Just had the funniest experience Jack - I went to your website to see the dog and as his picture started changing I was listening to some dance music on the pc and he was 'dancing' in perfect time to the music - priceless!

I've also looked up loads of these artists and have now been converted! My former list was Nickelback, Foo Fighters, Turin Brakes, Chilli Peppers; Pearl Jam; but I now have an extensive library of trance stuff and euphoric (?) dance, courtesy of a few friends mp3 collections! Only problem is it isn't as easy to remember artists names any more!

Great way to find loads of new artists is to download Musicmatch Jukebox for free (www.musicmatch.com) and then listen to their free 'radio' stations or search by artist and listen to their similar artists - it's all free but you can only listen and not download without paying. Good for expanding your horizons though.....

I don't wear music. On the bike I wouldn't even think of it for safety reasons, and once I get out of the city, the lack of noise is a pleasure in it self that I'd rather not spoil with music. In the pool I often have some tango humming in my head, very distracting.

Only plugged in during run and this year it has been 95% podcasts. Music really keeps me going and loosing it on the IM run makes life hard so I'm training without it. I listen to positive and interesting shows and love it.

Only for trainer rides and occasionally brick or easy runs in a traffic-free area. Mostly Hawaiian surf music. Hapa, Brudda Iz, etc. It's just happy and has a good rhythm for running. I like to imagine I'm running in Hawaii. (Not Kona-- Honolulu, where I lived for a few years.) Otherwise, the voices in my head Cool. My own, friends and former coaches that I "channel" etc. No, they don't tell me to do anything violent, just to suck it up, go faster, relax, etc.  I train solo a lot so my brain knows how to keep itself busy and deal with protests from the body.

My two current favs/sprinting songs are The Wanted's Chasing The Sun and Bon Jovi with Needles' Who Says You Can't Go Home.  Others that get heavey rotation are fun.'s Some Nights, Jepsen's Call Me Maybe, Karmin's Brokenhearted, and for sprinting ABBA's Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) and Bruno Mars' Runaway Baby.

I listen to Top 40 mostly, I'm shallow when it comes to music =)

I did my last long ride listening to 50 Shades of Grey and it was AWESOME, gonna try that again this week.

When biking, traffic, my heart rate, nature, etc. When running, about the same as biking.

Non-athletic activities, pretty much everything but rap and country... Right now, Charles Bradley's album "no time for dreaming". If you haven't heard him;
