Four miles! Ha! I'm running...well, OK, I'll probably only run 3-3.5 miles tonight, but still! I'm a newbie and I'm running almost as much as him. LAME!

(I'm guessing we're supposed to be doing the trash-talking in other people's threads, right? Heh. I'm not really sure how this works.)

Ya may have noticed that he ran 20 + miles yesterday....and that this is a recovery day for him....

The day I run 20 miles... well it wont be in October, or November or December...perhapse one day.

A man has got to know his limitations...(and then expand them)

Do you feel lucky ... well do ya...

i DID note that he ran 20 miles yesterday, but being the newbie team, i thought i'd just leave it at "he only did 4 today" lol
and by "in my sleep" i meant, my greuling hard days are 4 miles. well. not really, i ususally do between 2 and 4 but STILL.

Just dropping in to say hello! I see spokes has been tormeting you too... dont mind him and if you want to really torment him he is on the Werewolves team....

As for the poison apples well I think eating one of those would easily take out a werewolf especially in human form!

For a newbie team looks like youve already got the hang of it... any questions feel free to give me a shout!

If you think the new avatar is scary ... good ... be afraid, be very afraid, and keep running ...

P.S. The real race is between the newbie teams and TAN (Werewolves) ... but if I were you, I'd throw as many poison apples as I can in the forums, 'cause you can't keep up with shadows ...

I'm such a dork...I created an avatar to go with our challenge. In my defense, I don't have any photos of me doing anything tri-related (yet!), so I figured if I'm going to put up a pic, I might as well do something for the team, right?

Anyway, if anyone else wants a team avatar, go right ahead: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a174/walterfielding/dangerous_app...

While I have been gone - I have noticed I am the team leader. Since I have to report on Monday (never been a team leader before) - I will try to do well.

BTW - they may know we are in the shadows - but they won't know anything until we ping them in the back of the head with a poison apple and then run right past them and win. Wha ha ha... (ok that now sounds mean)...

My husband and I both worked in Greenbelt for about a decade together. He ran the Greenbelt Aquatic & Fitness Center (if you've ever been there) up until about 5 years ago

Yes familiar with the aquatic center, but not in an "exercised there" kind of way (yet). More of a "sitting on the bathroom floor while a 15 year old beauty pageant contestant is having a panic attack before competing in Miss Greenbelt and they came and got the EMT at the fire department booth because her other 15 year old friend thought she was dying" kind of way. Gotta love the drama of teens.

And welcome to everyone. And Baowulf, while I don't play Evercrack, I'm addicted to World of Warcraft (sad but true), so I get that part of your life. I'm hoping to transition my addiction into triathlon so I can spend less time killing pixels.

Hey everyone! Hope everybody got the month off to a good start. I'm feeling good about myself, even though it's only day one, I'm on track....lol....Baby steps, right? Being a newbie rocks sometimes, because nobody expects much from you, and it doesn't take much to impress anyone.

Fielding, I love that avatar and I'm so jealous you found it....Do you know how much this is going to cost my department in wasted time spent surfing the internet tomorrow, trying to find something as cool as that?

OK, so here I am, eating an apple.... When I find out that I'm on the Poison Apples Team!

Gahhhh! I just about spit apple across the room. LOL!

Anyway, it's been a long day at work. (Coming up on 10 PM, and I'm still here. Just sneaking onto the 'puter to see what's happening on BT.) But I couldn't resist telling you my Apple Story!

Basically, I'm a newbie who joined BT in mid-August. My first Tri will be next Spring, hopefully!

I did the September Bike/Swim Challenge, and had a BLAST. Believe me, I did a lot more working out because I was in the challenge and I could NOT let my team down! It's GREAT motivation. Also, the losing team for that challenge (yet to be announced) has to change their avatars to TWINKIES. That was great motivation, too - we'd all like to avoid displaying a Twinkie for the next month!

Yes, I'm rambling. I'm trying to type fast so I don't get caught doing this. LOL OK, back to work now. See you all tomorrow!

RUN, WALK, RUN, WALK!

Oh, regarding "smack talk" - yep. The other teams are going to do it to us. Don't worry, we'll do it right back. Muhahahahaha! (How do you do an evil laugh online?)

D.

Found a possible image for our use, fellow Poison Apples...it was the only decent one (besides the one at the top of the thread) I could find after 45 pages of google images (and I don't want to know why Kid Rock comes up in that search). Anyway, there's got to be something about Ironman and apples with this picture. I'm just too tired to figure it out.

I'M HERE! I'M HERE!!

My name is Laurel.  Obviously I'm a new BT'er and this too is my first challenge. October is a really crazy month for me, so I'm only shooting for 30 miles.  But then that is part of the reason I signed on - to get my a$$ moving!!  Hopefully I'll get a chance to post more later... oh, and run, too!!!  LOL

wow, I guess being in a challenge is full time work. I stopped by to say hi earlier, and we are already on page 2!

I've been motivated though. Even though I did a sprint tri yesterday (my first one ever) I'm gonna go for a 2 mile jaunt tonight. I think I read earlier that walking was allowed, as I'm still in a couch to running type program. I still feel like crap today, but honestly the best I've felt today was during a small bike ride.

I'll be back, hopefully we aren't on page 4 by the time I do

Good luck everyone!!
