Enders:  So THAT is why we do this.  I didn't get the memo.  I thought we just TALKED aboit Tri's  didn't think we had to actually do 1.

Maybe I'm the one who didn't get the memo...you mean I can just hang out here without having to do anything hard? That's hot.

So after today, I'm at:

3/13 swim sessions (23%)
25.11/120 bike miles (21%)
4.16/42 run miles (10%)
2/9 strength sessions (22%)

A little behind where I hoped to be, but I have a run scheduled for tomorrow and then a long run, long ride, and another swim at least this weekend...hopefully will be back on track by Monday.

Keep up the great work everyone!

Now I am confused.  Who has the memo?  Are we really supposed to Tri or just act like it?  Thanks COMET for getting us ALL confused.  Maybe we should ask Mary,  She knows everything?

Happy Thursday!

We have 102 people participating in the Challenge this month! For those of you who missed Sunday's “Challenge Update,” You can see it here: http://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid...

Want to see the team rosters? Your goals? Other people’s goals? All of those are available here: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=puhAA5NRKHA3l_GNYwG3Qdg

Each week, I’ll update the above spreadsheet. That way, you can chart your progress!

Team Spreadsheet "Due Dates"

The Challenge started on Nov 1st and ends on Nov 30th. All of your workouts during the month of November count.

Here are the "weeks" you'll use for reporting your workouts:
Thurs Nov 1 - Sunday Nov 11
Mon Nov 12 - Sunday Nov 18
Mon Nov 19 - Sunday Nov 25
Mon Nov 26 - Friday Nov 30

The "progress reports" (aka spreadsheets) will be due from the team leaders on these days:
Monday Nov 12
Monday Nov 19
Monday Nov 26
Saturday Dec 1st

The extra day is so that the team leaders can collect the end information without having to nag their team become overly stressed.

Team Leaders - Attached are the latest Team spreadsheets. Once you've entered your team's data, you can post the updated spreadsheets on the main Challenge thread. (This is the one with the push pin sticky. Since it's pinned to the top of the forum, it'll be easier to find. And the "chatter" on it has calmed down, so you don’t need to worry about it getting lost!) The teams are large, so if you want extra help, feel free to name an assistant captain!

If you have questions, post them on the main Challenge thread. That way, I’ll be sure to see them. (Or you can always PM me.)

I hope that your month is going well! This Challenge is all about working out - however you want to define it, meeting fellow BTers, and having fun! I hope that you've been able to accomplish all of these things during the past week.

Dee

No such thing as a silly question!

No, going over your pledged amount won't help your team. In some challenges, it does. But not this one. People set very different types of goals this month. So it's tough to "share" them with teammates. (People made goals for kickboxing, yoga, etc.)

Once you hit 100%, you can cheer and celebrate. You can also set a new, higher goal.

But no, you don't get to count more than 100%.

ok i got to run with my daughter today at her "Girls On The Run" event. yes Sailing i ran with girls and lost..im sure there will be repercusions for that comment. anyway she only allowed me to run 7 laps with her two of which we walked while she was being interviewed by our local paper. she is the only girl in the group that has done this since the beginning five years ago.
she managed her 5k in just over 38 minutes. heck she even got hardware and a certificate. this had by far the most girls and schools to participate. the first year they had twelve kids one school. this year close to 70 kids and 5 schools.
my daughter has been asked to acompany a few of the coaches and speak at other schools to try and get more girls involved. she is all for this and i know she will do great. i cant help but wonder where this kid came from. god i am so proud of her.
way to go Dani

comet-the-dog : WHOO WHOO for Dani! That is so cool...I can't wait until my girls start running. (Well, OK - they run around like fools a lot, but I mean race running.) And even more cool that you're raising such a great girl - an ambassador for girl sports - that's awesome.

1for1: WHOO WHOO for you & gidget-in-training! Keep up the great work! You guys rock!

And what's wrong with post padding??? I snuck into the "Those Who Shall Not Be Named" thread last night to talk to Dee and Cat...the 4 little orange running guys in our thread is NOTHING compared to what's going on in there. Holy cow!

Have a great weekend everyone!

1for1:  Great job.  Nothing like setting a questionable goal and smashing through it.

Gidget:  Love seeing a youngster set a goal and attain it.  Hope you are having fun doing it.

Comet:  Getting beat by a girl...LOL.  No wonder she wouldn't let you finish with her.  I plan my races better then that,  either 3-4 year olds or people in walkers.  Guaranteed to win except that one time, but I swear that 90 year old lady cheated.

Saling4:  Can you put any more it's at the end of a sentence?

I'm in bit of slump with my swim.  I have a 1/2 Mary tomorrow (Sat. 11/09) and coach youth b-ball 3 days a week, and a 4th day my older boy has practice.   I just can't get the groove going yet.

I will reach the goal, but I won't get my first 2 swims in this week.  Sorry, troop.

Hey, team!

Hope you're all having a great weekend. I had a great workout this morning (although I may be paying for it later...I maybe shouldn't have gone so far since I'm still fighting my cold, but it was fun while I was doing it).

I'll be gathering up data tomorrow night for Dee...so please post your workouts.
