Expert 1007 Hattiesburg, Mississippi | Subject: RE: Team Fall-dippides - November Challenge Hi All, I am loving today, the first day of a five day weekend! Woohoo! Did another fast run today, even managed a better pace, however there were some hills so it bumped my HR up some. All in all a good run on a lovely day! Tomorrow is our club's annual Thanksgiving Day 5 mile race and then on Saturday the MS Coast half marathon. It's at NASA"s Stennis Space Center so it should be fun! |

Master 1887 Brentwood, CA | Subject: RE: Team Fall-dippides - November Challenge Good morning team! I surpassed my running goal for the month this morning. With my long run still to go this week, I guess I underestimated my goal a little bit. Hopefully, I should be able to cross of the swimming goal Saturday. We are almost threre! Keep up the strong work! |

Master 2055 Santa Clarita | Subject: RE: Team Fall-dippides - November Challenge GoGoGo - 2009-11-24 4:58 PM Well 20 min exercise bike, 9k treadmill progression run, followed by swim lessons tonite.Swim lessons were not good tonite. Very unmotivated. I am officially stuck. My "kid instructor" says my kicks are good, great stroke, but I sink. Too much muscle & bone he thinks. I suspect that most triathletes are built this way!!! They have learned to swim!!! I think he has sort of thrown his hands up. Oh well, gonna watch some more Mr Smooth & keep going, but a little discouraged.Baowolf...Congrats on your race!!! You 'da man.BlueJay...Good Luck this weekend with your half Mary. You are still with us then, so we expect a race report!!!!
Keep at the swim It takes a while and you will get it . I swam breastoke for a year in races until i got my freestyle to happen . |

Elite 5316 Alturas, California | Subject: RE: Team Fall-dippides - November Challenge 2000 yard swim and strength training for 50 mintues today. It is a lovely 78 degrees in Santa Barbara today. Too bad it costs 1,000,000+ to buy a starter house down here. Oh well I will just enjoy visiting it for a week. |

Master 2055 Santa Clarita | Subject: RE: Team Fall-dippides - November Challenge Baowulf You are near me this week . I swam 1650 yds in the Santa Maria pool at lunch . Enjoy the weather it was indeed lovely at the pool today at 1 pm . Only 3 workouts left for me to reach my goal . Its been interesting to do sessions as opposed to mileage . Makes me get out there more as opposed to looking at how little time i have available and fretting about not getting that 50 mile ride /10 mile run in .

Got 10 miles in with 5 x 1 mile speed intervals. I think this was the hardest run workout that I've done to date. Finished the third interval with slight fade and wasn't sure if I would be able to get back on pace. Focused on how well the team has been doing and was able to power through the remaining two intervals. Now, get some things done around the house, then take a spin on the bike after the wife leaves for work.
That's a stud workout ! You Da Man !
x2. Sounds like a workout to test your barf threshold! :D
That is a killer workout.... my barf threshold would have been WAY past!!!!

Expert 1007 Hattiesburg, Mississippi | Subject: RE: Team Fall-dippides - November Challenge Happy Thanksgiving to ALL. Did our club's annual Thanksgiving Day 5 mile race, and did well. Bested my time from last year by 2 minutes! Even with the hills I was able to maintain a good pace. It was very fun and good to see so many friends! Now I'll get to cooking and then I'm officially a couch potato as I rest up for the half on Saturday! Cheers! |

Elite 5316 Alturas, California | Subject: RE: Team Fall-dippides - November Challenge Against my better judgment I did the 4 mile Thanksgiving day race today that my wife was doing. It turns out that I was not fully recovered from the trail run, but sucked it up and ran it basically entirely above LT. I am sure I will be paying for it today and tomorrow. The first 100 yards out and I was all... hrm not much umphta... gona be a long race..... Did what I could. Mile times 6:14, hr 165, 6:19, hr 179, 6:51, hr 179, 6:41 hr 182 for a total time of like 26:20 or some such. Thanksgiving 4 Miler, 8 th place of 22 in age group (theh guy who won was 43 with a time of 20:00 or some such, smoking). |

Way to power through it... but, as you know, your going to most likely pay the price in recovery time. It just amazes me the times some of these guys put up! I can't even imagine holding a 5 minute anything pace for any amount of time. |

Master 4119 Toronto | Subject: RE: Team Fall-dippides - November Challenge Morning team!! I am officially three workouts from making 100% of my challenge goals! They are all swims - which I think this is do-able but it will take me right to monday. I'll swim tonight to get me that little bit closer. Last night I had a fantastic run ... getting some of my speed back after the marathon and the very long race season I took upon myself. |

Elite 5316 Alturas, California | Subject: RE: Team Fall-dippides - November Challenge You were right, I am paying for yesterday's run today. I had little energy for my 2750 yard swim and even less for the 10 mile run today. 700 mile drive home tomorrow to let those stiff muscles get all good and stiff. The results of the race came out so I was officially 44/642. We are so going to own this challenge! |

Master 1887 Brentwood, CA | Subject: RE: Team Fall-dippides - November Challenge The results of the race came out so I was officially 44/642. Man, that's some stiff competition! I thought with those splits you would of been higher. You were right about the PCT course documentation. Went out and ran the 17k course today at Huddart Park. There elevation profile is off by roughly 250 percent. What gives? Not that I mind the extra elevation, it's just nice to know since it will effect the pace at which I try to hold for the race. |

Master 1887 Brentwood, CA | Subject: RE: Team Fall-dippides - November Challenge Got some good training in today. 11 mile run on some very scenic single track that meandered through redwood forest. Lots of wildlife, fog, and drizzle that turned into scattered showers. I didn't really mind the rain though; it was rather peaceful without another person in sight. I had a swim lesson in the afternoon. Probably the first of many to come. I'm hoping to use the next few months to correct flaws in technique. Today, we worked on hand entry, catch, and pull. Productive session, just hard to break bad habits! Hope everyone is doing well. |

Veteran 294 Germantown, WI | Subject: RE: Team Fall-dippides - November Challenge I got in a 6 mile run with my wife today. She is battling a pain on the outside of her foot. Has a few suggestions from folks on the BT forum. Looks like I might be doing my 15 miler alone tomorrow. Follow that up with an 8 miler on Sunday and I will be at or slightly over my run miles goal for the month. I might fall 1 or 2 workouts short on my strength sessions though. We'll see. |
