Champion 5117 Brandon, MS | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks 2800 more down tonight. At 83%, all tied up with Laura and nipping at Hans and Heidi's fins. This was an unplanned swim that I had to throw in for some much needed stress therapy. Back to work now, though. I'm the last man standing in a department of three. The flu got one, and foot surgery snagged the other. This is going to be one hectic week, but I'm hoping to hit my goal by Friday anyway. This will be a GREAT week to really knock some big yards out of the goals, rockers. Lets get back to numero uno!! |

Expert 1226 Chicago | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks Another 1700 in the piggy bank. I threw in another 300 yards for good measure and thought about all my friends in the BT challenge in the process! Boo yah. Almost at 70%. |

Veteran 224 Denver | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks Added another 3000 tonight to get me up to 71%. The workout I had picked out from the Swim Workouts in a Binder for Triathletes was supposed to be 2900 yards and i wanted to go a bit longer than 300, but I really liked the main set of this particular workout, so I just tacked on another 300 to the warm-up. When I looked at the total elapsed time at the end of the workout it seemed too good to be true - and it was! The workout as written was only 2700 yards. |

Master 1639 Robbinsville NJ | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks Got in 1200M last night and now at 78%. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this challenge. Every night seems to get better and I'm losing any anxiety over the swims (at least for sprints). If I keep this up I'm going to sign up for an Oly which I was doubting earlier in the year when I 1st got in the pool. Team Swimming Rocks! |

Veteran 202 Tucson | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks Hey all, I've got a dilemma. I'm planning on swimming this afternoon and have a choice of 2 pools. Pool #1 is right next door to where I need to be at 3:00, and also has a Jacuzzi and a hair dryer. However, the heater is broken, pool temp was 74 degrees there yesterday, and today the outside temp is 62 and overcast.
Pool #2 is 15 mins from my 3:00, no Jacuzzi, no hair dryer, but has a working heater. Which pool would you choose? (I get done with work at 1:10; Pool #1 is 30 mins away from my current location and Pool #2 is 15 mins. away) Thanks! |

Elite 3072 san francisco | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks Woo hoo, go rocks! Just got my goal done today, am going to definitely go to 110% on my next swim which is Friday. I'm thinking next month I need to up my goal to 15,000 or maybe even 18,000 to push myself to be ready for oly in may. This challenge has been so excellent. 5:30am is doable when your team is depending on you....not so easy to pull the covers over your head! Thanks Everyone. Kim |

Expert 626 Las Vegas, NV | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks All right folks, I finally got a temporary loaner laptop for work until they get me a whole new one. They are predicting until next week before the hard drive id decrypted and can try to salvage something. I am so screwed as I have lost almost two months of work. But I got an external drive to back up my data from now on. Got to look at the positive. So, where are we, and how are we doing. Congrats to those who are in the 90-100+% on this challenge. Great job to everyone else, but we are in trouble. We need to be just about 69% in our training, and are only at 65.24%. The most hurting part, we have quite a few people below 40%, and that will kill us at the end. Let's all get together, and start inspiring those folks, as we need to catch up. I have a feeling we may not even be in the top 3 after this week. So please get out there, and start swimming. We need to come together!! Spread sheet updated as of 13:20 PST. Good luck, and start logging. OH yes, if anyone can help with some pledging for the Operation Rebound California, www.operationreboundcalifornia.kintera.org/devouahy it would be most appreciated. All pledging is 501(c)3 tax deductable and goes for one of the most awesome causes Our military soldiers who lost limbs. Thanks. |

The most hurting part, we have quite a few people below 40%, and that will kill us at the end. Only if they don't make it 100%. I plan on making it to 100%. The weekly ratings are somewhat inconsequential. As long as we all hit 100% in the end, we don't "lose" |

Veteran 202 Tucson | Subject: RE: Team Swimming Rocks aquinn - 2008-02-20 12:17 PM No doubt, pool #2. Heater clinches the deal. Thanks -- I ALMOST went to the non-heated pool, but at the last minute, I remember how "refreshing" a 74 degree pool was on my face yesterday. And that was with sunny skies. When I got to the heated pool, I was very glad I had followed your advice. Oh, and I added another 30 minutes to my total -- bringing me out of the basement 30's and up into the 40's. (Yes, I know I'm still behind, but I'll keep on swimming!) |
