Makes me want to run out and buy one to save gas...I have a long commute you know...

You think Cindy will buy the whole mid-life crisis thing again?

Hahaha...my husband is turning 30 next year and is trying to use the gas mileage as justification for a motorcycle. I think it's more a mid life crisis.

Sorry, mid life crisis don't start until you are 50. He is still a baby.

Is there a term for "turning-30-and-it-freaks-me-out crisis"?

I guess there's the quarter-life crisis, but I think he's too old for that.

I guess that 30 is the first big 0 birthday. For some reason people don't get freaked by 10 or 20. LOL

I think that's what it is.  Although I didn't know him when he turned 10 or 20, so I can't attest to him being freaked out or not.

Had a roommate in college who cried for three months because they were turning 21. I vowed to never let my age bother me after that cause that was 3 months that she wasted and will never get back. Don't know how she would have responded to all these other "big age" birthdays. Must be crying yearround by now.

kns57 - 2008-06-27 10:54 PM So tomorrow is going to be 90 degrees and I'll be in a parking lot wearing jeans, jacket, gloves, books and helmet. Can anyone say "heatstroke"

Bring lots of water?

I'm planning on that. Luckily there will be no line for the ladies room. Only 3 ladies to 8 guys. LOL

Yeah, that seems like a total waste.  I don't get very bothered by age.  At least I try not.

enders_shadow - 2008-06-27 8:07 AM Morning, Nibbs! Did a practice panic swim this morning. All will be well. Got my goals figured for TdF (finally) - a little low, but I'll be on vaca for 5 days during the tour. Happy Friday, all!

I love that... a "practice panic swim" LOL!

I need to get my goal for TdF ready as well. I requested to be with some nibbins

Morning nibbins!

I finished my summer class now, so I finally have a two month break before I get back at it. I am so excited to just be able to work out, hang out on BT, and well, have a life other than homework!

I have successfully completed my first 2 triathlons in the last 2 weeks. My first OWS was tough. It was as if I had never swam before in my life. I then spent some time in a lake before my next one and it went so much better. I really had so much fun! Now I am training for two long course tris, one the first weekend of August and the other the last weekend of August.

Catch you all later!

Congrats Jeni!

Thanks Sal!

Welcome back Jeni. Congratulations of finishing your first two tris. Way to go girl. Now that your class is over maybe we will see you in Nibbs more often.

I will definitely hang out more here at BT. It is not fun to be so busy that I can't even get online for fun stuff at all.

enders_shadow - 2008-06-27 10:40 AM I smell like chlorine. Oddly, it's kind of nice.

After doing so many OWS I am dieing to smell like chlorine! My suit is just absolutely disgusting. My GF's parents just got a swimming pool, so we go there after we swim in the pond to get our suits smelling like chlorine rather than lake!

kns57 - 2008-06-27 1:59 PM My baby turns 24 this Sunday. I have to come home Saturday from class (8-6) and then make a cheesecake for his birthday. He is coming over Sunday and he said he only wanted one thing. Cheesecake. Oh, cheesecake has a different meaning in my house than it does on Nibbs, so get your minds out of the gutter/bedroom.

Yeah, cause that would REALLY be bad bad....

You know there's pretty good cheesecake at Sam's Club

I must've been on a school hiatus when the cheesecake conversation happened... what's the meaning of it on nibbs?

Now that I have semi-caught up... morning everyone! I'm on an off day today, but I think I'm going to do some circuit training to work on my core, arms, legs somewhat, and agility. I had a big training week and am tired!

It's a reference to the bedroom activities...don't remember when it started, I think it was very early in the Nibbs threads but I'm sure Dee, Beth or some other computer guru with a great desire to search the old herads would know when

no need to look it up - Sal started it - LOL

actually I just looked up the Chronicles and I honestly can't quite figure out when cheesecake morphed into it's new meaning

in the beginning it actually did mean cheesecake and Sal was getting a cavity - LOL!
