Revising goals due to illness or injury - Another way to recalculate....

If you have specific workouts planned, but missed them due to illness or injury ---> You can revise your challenge goal by leaving out those missed workouts.

For example, if you'd planned 10 runs of 5 miles each, but missed one session:
(9 sessions that you could do) x (5 miles per session) = 45 miles revised goal

Dan, I can't thank you enough for the information.  I'm going to continue to research this topic and hopefully make an informed decision.  I thought this practioner did a good job with ART.  Not to mention, she came highly recommended to me for sports medicine.  But, I'm having serious doubts about Gastron.  I had never heard about it before today.  What an eye opener.

As for the origin of my pain, there is not a definitive answer.  It apprears to be a combination of piriformis syndrome, ITBS, and tight hip flexors.

Pain is a bad thing. If you need to reduce or drop challenge goals because of it, please do so! It's not worth risking injury for a challenge!

Hope you figure out what's causing it soon!

Wow, I step away from the computer for a day and look at all I miss!

I'm at work, and a bit distracted, so this is going to be general, sorry:
To those who are doing well, way to go! Those feeling badly, bummer and get well soon. Nice to see we staged a successful coup. Does this mean we're an egalitarian society, without a leader? Fine by me if it works for the next week or so. Epiphanies are a well oiled machine!!
Like I said, stuck at work, may try to sneak some yoga in tonight after I get home (11 hour days suck, somebody throw me a pity party!) but if I don't, I'll get it done tomorrow. Trainer tomorrow, too.

That's it for now, dog's are a-barking.

Happy Saturday, Epiphanies! I'm having a much better training Saturday than last weekend. The whole family got in a swim this morning. Well, me and hubby got laps in and the girls got swim lessons... but we played around with the kids in the water for a while after and my 5 year old actually swam all by herself with no bubbles or swim noodle. It was a very big moment!! She says she can't wait to swim by herself so she can race and win ribbons. : )

This afternoon we got some sledding in with the neighborhood kids and I also did my 3 mile run. The run felt sluggish but I was so happy to actually be able to run outside. Only had to jump in the ditch once... We're warming up with some hot chocolate now and then the kids are going to practice their counting while I do my pushups and situps. They are little mini drill sergeants!

Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Got in a 20 mile run today. OMG. Yikes! A bit sore, just a bit, and about to jump in an ice bath. Actually looking forward to it. Thanks to everyone for sending me good wishes. Ya know, you think your tough until you train for your first marathon. At about mile 15 I started to feel real puny!

Stretching later...

I had a fantastic run today - 24k (i think that's just shy of 15 miles).  Normally do the long run on Sunday but the weather is supposed to be rainy tomorrow (Rain in January sucks!) so we rescheduled. My running partner and I both felt great and felt like we could have gone the whole distance of our upcoming race. It's great to feel ready nice and early!

Two more long runs, along with the usual weekly stuff- probably 22-23 for the next run and then something around 15 and then taper. I can't do more than two weeks of taper, but need at least that much.

The last person in our spreadsheet listing is "hattie101". That userid doesn't show up in a search. Even in the spreadsheet, it looks like the entries are not added into the summary column. Mistake? Misspelling?

Got to the pool late Sunday morning and did 1000m - all 25m lengths focused on form. After the swim I did 15 minutes on a bike and then a set of weights. Interesting that I hardly broke a sweat on the bike/weights. First time I've ever done the swim part first.

Hey Team!

Happy Sunday morning! I just registered for a couple more races for 2010. A 10k where they raffle off a car, a duathlon and a sprint tri.

So, some bike trainer time and weights will be getting me very close to my monthly goals. Go team!

Good morning all.  I'm sitting here in solitude with my coffee before the little ones wake.  Aww, the peaceful hours of the morning.

Waiting to see what the weather does today.  I need to decide between biking or a short run.  I plan on hitting the pool this afternoon regardless, which should put me over 100 percent for that goal.  Unfortunately, this is probably the only goal I will make this month.

Have fun today and be safe!

Hm. I'm not sure. But it doesn't look like someone who is participating, so I grayed out the entry. If he/she shows up again, we can add the "total" calculations in.

Darn! I was just heading to spin class when this posted! After an hour and a half spin class, I am caught up on the bike. It was a good one... definitely deserved the steak and wine tonight. Plan to finish the week strong! Maybe even log some bonus on the swim and bike.
