We are under a tsunami warning.  Shouldn't be bad for us at all, though.  First waves are expected to hit around 1:30PM pacific time.  I was planning on a bike ride along the beach today.  Hmmmm.  I might change my route.  I'm not terribly worried, though.  The wave heights arn't expected to be more than 18 inches and I believe that they are coming in at low tide.  Have a great day everyone!

Stay safe.

Just checking in quickly!

I was able to make it for part of the bar run last night, but not for very long.  So I only logged an extra 2-ish miles.  This morning was my long run, and we have a cut-back week... But that's still another 10 miles.  So now I'm up to 95% for the month.

My tempo run tomorrow will push me over the edge, to about 103% to close out the month.  I'm also excited to try out my new running shoes that I just bought today. . . They're PINK!

Inquiring minds want to know...how much did you drink? Is this like the doughnut ride where you get a bonus for every doughnut/drink you consume?

Decided to bag the outdoor ride even though the sun is shining.  Too many tsunami watchers out on the roads.  They are so excited that they forgot how to drive.  We had a surge but nothing destructive.

Oh wow...I didn't hear about that.

Putting in my final 5 miles today.  It's a lot for me to do all at once, but I had a funeral yesterday and then we did some visiting, etc.  Suffice to say, I didn't get to the gym   I'm not letting my team down.

Go Hearts!

This week has not been good for training.  However, I ran today and I am not at home so it is unfamiliar area.  I missed a turn Undecided  so I would up running a little further than planned.  But that is all to the good for the love goal.  I managed to get it to 105% (thanks to my wrong turn!).   Tongue out

It has been great being on a team with you all.  Hope to see you next month!

Heya, Hearts!

Sorry I've been MIA for the past few weeks.  Other priorities, blah, blah, blah.  You know how it goes.  No time for the internets.  I did, however, have time to run, run, run!  Today put me at 104 miles for the month of February - thats 104% of my goal!  I think that's also my biggest milage month ever.

Congrats to everyone that met their goals this month!  I'm sure I'll get the chance to chat with y'all in future challenges!

I had 2 shots and part of someone's beer!  Everyone has to take a shot (or we split a beer if it's too expensive to buy everyone shots) at every bar we stop.  If you don't pass out or have to go home early, then your bonus is that you get to take more shots until all the money runs out, haha!

Phooey!  At the beginning of the week, I was all set to finish up at 105% by today, but I kept getting foiled. . . And today was no exception Frown  I had planned to run 8 miles today, but I had to cut it short because I was experiencing cramping in my calves.  I had a pretty hard run yesterday, so I didn't want to risk injuring myself in case I needed some extra recovery time from that.  I did wear my new shoes, so it could also have been from that.  Who knows, I'll watch it, though.  Definitely don't want to hurt myself before the season even starts!

Anyways, todays run brings me up to 99.92%. . . Which kind of annoys me because if I'd realized it was going to be this close, I'd run around the driveway a couple of times until I got that extra .08 mile.  Oh well, I did the best I could do, and it was pretty darn close to my goal!

It was great being on a team with everyone!  It was definitely good motivation to stay on track and try to get things done, especially when things come up and workouts don't get done as planned.

This February will be long remembered because of the awful, often record-setting weather that so many of us endured. Still, it was an extraordinary month with more than 77% of challenge participants reaching 100% of their Love goal.

In the final tally, The Hearts are the winners, having led the challenge from wire to wire:

Hearts: 99.6%
Kisses: 98.5%
Hugs: 96.2%

Hearts: you can use the signature line: "My team won the February Love Challenge"

Hugs & Kisses: if you reached 100%, you should display: "My team lost, but I met my goal in the February Love Challenge"

Hugs & Kisses: everyone else: you should display: "I Loved the February challenge but will work even harder in March"

Thanks for a great month. Hope to see you in the East vs West March Winds challenge.

Oh, by the way, the Hugs were the runaway winners in the secret post-padding challenge
