QueenZipp - 2010-05-23 12:44 PM I feel lousy.  Asthma is kicking my tail....though I have NEVER had chills & body aches with an asthma flare before.  SO, I am only stretching & foam rollering today. Should have no problem meeting challenge goals if I can knock this crud under the bus!

Sounds like you and I are in the same boat however, I don't have the asthma - I did have the chills and body aches yesterday and if I could breath today I will attempt a run. Hoping it gets better - this is day 3 of this crap..

Unfortunately this is over a week for me and I finished the prednisone on Friday.  Should have called my primary back today but felt fine until after dinner.....now I am coughing like a maniac again and it freaking HURTS!
Hope you feel better soon!
I can't believe you are still training with such intensity when you can't breathe.  You are a BEAST!!!!  I hope your physician gets that asthma under control ASAP.

MDHillSlug - 2010-05-24 6:00 PM I'm off from work this week so I did a nice long 48 mile ride today. The wind was much calmer than what I've been riding in lately, so I didn't feel quite as beaten up at the end like I have lately.
Very nice ride.  I'm jealous--I've been focusing on my swimming in preparation for a 1.2 mi OWS this weekend.  I am really looking forward to the swim, but I really miss my bike.  Next week, I'll start getting out on some nice long rides myself.

crews - 2010-05-24 1:21 PMOMG, my son is BEGGING for a baby brother or sister...he's already got names picked out.  My husband and I are fine with having one kiddo, but said kiddo really wants a sibling.  I don't think a day goes by that he doesn't mention it.  His 6th birthday is today, and he asked first think this morning if he could have one.  Sheesh!
That's too funny!!! Both girls (3 1/2 and 5 1/2) have recently been asking for the baby brother as their birthday present. Their birthday isn't until November! Not really sure where the big push for the baby brother is coming from... both my husband and I are busy enough with 2 girls and have no plans for any more! The woman next door brought home a kitten over the weekend so I can see where that's coming from. But a puppy? My little one is terrified of ALL dogs!
Do you have any siblings yourself?  My girls were really bugging me to have another baby, but in the nick of time my sister got pregnant. Whew!  Now, when my girls demand a brother, I send them over to play with their cousin instead.  I definitely recommend going with the fish option, LOL.

Not with intensity, that's the trade off....just getting the aerobic work in.  Haven't done any intervals or speed work in at least 10 days.

deehtz - 2010-05-21 7:37 AM On a weird note...  My husband and I came home from work yesterday and entered the garage from the side door.  (We don't park in the garage).  Our lab stays in the garage when we are gone.  Yesterday, when we walked into our locked garage there was also a little stray dog in with our lab!

The only thing that we can figure out is that it came under the gate into the backyard and then into the garage.  This could have happened while the side door was open while our lab was outside before I went to work.  I can't remember if I left the door open or closed.  But I left for work at 8:30 and everything was shut and locked at that time.  I am guessing that it was just hiding in a corner.  I didn't notice our dog reacting but I was zooming thru to go to work.

We checked with some of the neighbors, but no one recognizes it.  It is so timid and small, I don't see how it could have gone very far!  Strange.

Very odd!  So, did you adopt the little pooch?

Well, yeah....  we got attached to the little thing really fast.  It is only about 2-3 months old.  We put up a sign and filed a "found dog" report.  But no one has seemed to be looking for her.  My husband (who never wanted a small dog) loves to hold her while we are watching TV.  Smile

Our big dog (lab mix) is a little jealous but doing well.  She is getting to come in the house more in the evening since the puppy comes in, so she is benefiting also!

Sounds cute!  I'm glad my daughter is not reading this with me though... she and her little sister joined together this weekend to beg for either a puppy, a kitten or a baby brother.  I told them I might consider a fish.

I've got one of those for you!

I had to shorten my swim today because of cramping in the foot! Just couldn't get it to ease up so called it a day after only 300. Not sure if it is still from yesterday or not...but the rest of me feels good. Going to call it an early night, I have PT, silversneakers, vive and a tri-club bike ride on tap for tomorrow.

I noticed there were some ladies on our list who seem to be at a very low percentage (one person as low as 6.9%, another at 19.6%).  I know I've been very erratic lately in visiting our team thread this month, but I don't really remember some of them participating in discussions since the beginning of the month.  I'm not sure if this means they dropped out of the challenge but never told anyone?  Can we kick people off due to abandonment?  (I'm not talking about people who participate in the team & are still trying, but became injured, got busy, etc... just the ones that have been mia completely and don't seem to be working on their goals).

Speaking of being MIA, here are my updates!  I was out in Galena last weekend to volunteer at the tri.  On Saturday I did my longest run since my marathon, and I think it was the hilliest run I've ever done!  I also got a pretty good bike ride in on Sunday.  I only did 20 miles because it was really hilly and was afraid I wouldn't be able to make it back.  But then when I got back, I wish I'd done a longer ride.  Oh well.  Yesterday was a nice tempo run for me.

I'm already over my run goal for the month, and should easily make my bike goal and my 4th (yoga/strength) goal.  I've been lagging on my swim goal, so that's what I'll be working on this week.  Might not make 100% on that one, but hopefully going over on the other goals will make up for it!
