Master 2005 Silverton, Oregon | Subject: RE: January Training and Nutrition Challenge Hi everyone! I'm way behind on this thread with little chance to catch up, so sorry about everything I've missed. We're moving tomorrow over to the coast. We have an RV and move from job site to job site for my husband's job, but we've been at our current site for over a year so there's lots to be canceled, disconnected, forwarded, etc. Not to mention trying to secure all our belongings in the RV after not being in motion for a year. Training and nutrition is going well. I even managed a couple days of no sugar. Thanks to this challenge and you all for keeping me accountable! Friday we're headed to California for the Redding Marathon. So, this week will be pretty light. Should be a fun trip! Take care to all those getting hit by this crazy weather. My thoughts are with you |

Master 1623 | Subject: RE: January Training and Nutrition Challenge We've still got lots of snow... Haven't done any training since saturday partially due to snow and being back with all my friends and then my calf's been kinda cranky. It's better today so I may go hop on a treadmill since the sidewalks are now under 6+inches of snow. Hope everyone's having a great week! |

I was watching tv last night when they cut in with a warning for everyone living in a certain area to get out, right now, as a huge wall of water was heading for them. Thankfully we live close to the coast, not that close to the rivers and on reasonably high ground. I am so grateful for that and so sad for everyone effected. To fully understand this, Toowoomba sits right on top of a mountain range that runs around 100 - 150kms inland down the entire east cost. To get flash flooding on top of a mountain would have to be extreme, however all that water has now run down off the mountain. Unfortunately the long term forecast is for rain to continue through to April, hopefully not as strong and with some sunshine in between. I can't even imagine that kind of flooding. Keep safe. |

Master 2042 Albany, NY | Subject: RE: January Training and Nutrition Challenge So, my trip with my daughter to the doctor's office resulted in a trip to the ER... and then an overnight stay in the pediatric wing. She was diagnosed with ITP, which basically means she has a really low platelet count, but her white and red cell counts are normal. A "normal" platelet count is 130... her initial reading at the ER last night was a 1. Yeah, not good... basically she has no ability to clot. So they admitted her thinking we were in for 2-3 days. She got some meds last night and retested this afternoon and was up to 18. Nowehere near, 130 but enough improvement to go home and take it easy and come back for another check on Friday. So o?bviously, my run didn't happen last night! And after sleeping for about 2 hours on a cot?, I'm not likely to do much tonight either. ? ??B?u?t? ??I?'?m? ?j?u?s?t? ?h?a?p?p?y? ?t?o? ?h?a?v?????????????e?? ?t?h?e? ?w?h?o?l?e? ?f?a?m?i?l?y? ?h?o?m?e? ?t?o?n??ig?h????t?.? ? ?? |

Master 1346 Gold Coast | Subject: RE: January Training and Nutrition Challenge Morning All! So, the rain has stopped for a bit this morning although waters are still rising in Brisbane and people are still being evacuated. Anyway, I thought it would be fine to go out for a nice ride, followed by a run but I stacked it on my bike about 14km into the ride, going round a roundabout, turns out the ground was still pretty wet. I scraped up my bike a bit and have lovely matching scrapes and bruises on the right hand side of my body now. Then, to top it off, after another 10 k or so (no short way home), I got a flat and was so mad that I didn't even bother trying to change it but walked the bike home feeling very sorry for myself. |

Master 1655 NJ | Subject: RE: January Training and Nutrition Challenge rnihill - 2011-01-11 5:20 PM So, my trip with my daughter to the doctor's office resulted in a trip to the ER... and then an overnight stay in the pediatric wing. ? ??
