Karen and Jen. Those are some serious numbers. Nice work. 1 HR 35 minute trail ride again today. Loving the 40 degree weather. Avg HR 140, max 184 on a super long technical climb.

Not quite the same as some of you but not too bad for my first official year. I'd say 20% of the bike miles are mountain bike miles. Very limited swimming.

I hear ya Rudy. I almost feel like a spectator instead of a participant. Ha. Inspiring though. They've earned those numbers.

It's supposed to be 44 tmrw. Let's see if I can be brave enough for a road ride tomorrow afternoon. Haven't done that in 2 months.

Happy New Year!  I hope everyone has a safe night.  Get some rest and be ready for a productive 2012.

I had a nice 6 mile trail run today.   Hopefully tomorrow a 2 hr trainer ride.  I feel like training by hrt rate gets my mind off time or distance and I actually have enjoyed training better since I started.

Here are my totals for 2011-  I am hoping to really improve on all sports in 2012..

2011 totals
Bike:260h 48m 25s  - 4315.89 Mi
Run:194h 08m 24s  - 906.54 Mi
Swim:86h 52m 32s  - 219019.7 Yd

Just got back from my first outside ride since IMAZ - felt so good to get back out on my bike!

Here are my 2011 numbers:

Bike:	197h 26m 52s - 2819.68 Mi
Run:127h 05m 37s - 635.45 Mi
Swim: 58h 11m 57s - 144427.9 Yd
Blew my 2010 bike and swim numbers out of the water, run was a bit lower (by like 20 miles) but my durability increased and I
didn't have any IT issues like I did last year so I call it a win all around.
Happy New Year everyone!

Drank a couple few too many beers last night.

Trainer ride this morning (if I get a move on it), trail run later, then dinner with our tri buddies.  Great start to 2012!

Good morning y'all.  No headache this morning.  That's an accomplishment.  Both Reagan and Abby made it to 2 AM when we loaded them in the car, mostly due to hitting the dessert table every time they passed, and were out within 5 minutes of being put in their car seats.

My 2011 mileage:

Bike: 188h 42m 46s - 3340.89 Mi
Run: 123h 06m 57s - 904.68 Mi
Swim: 55h 09m 17s - 163033.4 M
Strength: 61h 18m
Yoga: 15h 07m

Happy new year everyone.

Thanks for feedback on my swim stroke, definitely gives me a few things to work on. I'll also try to get my hands on a better quality camera for next time.

Happy New Year everyone! My tri club has a tradition of a New Year's Day swim in the bay and this year I decided to do it sans wetsuit. Ended up being able to swim for about 20 minutes in the 51 degree water before I had to get out. Was totally exhilarating but took me a long time to warm up afterward. Followed the swim up with a 6 mile run/walk with a friend just enjoying the gorgeous weather. Hope everyone is having a great start to the year!

Took advantage of 48 degree weather. Got in a 41 mile road ride with lots of climbing. My quads were burning. I miss the nice weather and road rides. My toes were pretty darn cold but rest of body was fine. Forgot to wear the toe covers. 2 bottles of Gu Brew, 2 gels, 148 avg HR, 175 max. Great start to 2012. Happy new year.

Wow I had a lot to catch up on!

First..carrie- I'm so jealous you are doing the goofy challenge! enjoy it, is also something i hope to do sometime in life.

all of the yearly totals are SO impressive.. i am not a very experience triathlete and have actually never logged any miles or hours of anything. 17 years of swimming just doing what a coach tells you, and never following a true marathon/running plan, I've never really done that. i guess 2012 is a year to start!

just got a new bike trainer for christmas, figuring out exactly how to use it is something I'm still working at, but have gone on a few rides so far. bringing a tv to medical school so i can watch lectures while riding on saturdays. went on many runs with my dad over break that have been so nice that planned 8:50 pace long runs somehow just end up being 8:17!

so excited to be on my way/beginning training for IMLP this summer, but hoping my biking inexperience isn't making all of this biting of more than i can chew! hoping to improve my knowledge and skills throughout these next 30 weeks.

happy new year everyone, and here's to 2012, a great year of training and racing (and life in general) for all.

Hi, all,It feels good to be home, but I'm a bit depressed because the holidays are over. I wish I were able to see my sisters more often. I was back on the trainer this morning, and I'll likely squeeze in a short, easy run this afternoon. Kids are back in school tomorrow, so everything starts up again. Have a great day.

Coogs play today.  I'll probably spend the game on the treadmill.  I have 10 miles on the schedule.  I'd much rather be outside but today is about making efficient use of time if I want to get a football game in.  My kids slept for 12 hours last night so I should have enough energy to knock some stuff out today.
