Well how about Brian and Michael give us a game plan for IMAZ this week. When do you plan to get there, who's coming with you, game day plan, expected time, etc.

Good luck this week!

Tim

I've got an entourage!! My wife, kids, and parents are all coming to laugh when I fall flat on my face encourage me to get to the finish line.

Leaving tomorrow, getting there on Friday.

Game plan -
Swim - Stay out of the way of the 1999 swimmers who are faster than me
Bike - Catch up with a few of the 1999 swimmers who got out of the lake before I did
Run - Survive

In a perfect world, this would add up to a 13-14 hour race.

Really good would be: 1:50 Swim, 6 1/2 hr bike, 5 hour run
Perfect race: 1:40 Swim, 5 1/2 bike, 4:15 run
Good race Make it past the check points before the cut off time, especially the swim.

Thanks for the encouragement! I need everything I can get

PM me your info if you want and I'll give it a stab. I have a real doubt they will let me get my hands on it but maybe if you have  a USAT # it might help? If you think I am a internet stalker, I am cool with that too Laughing

Okay, gameplan:

Sitting here in butt cold Michigan at 12:45 AM on Thursday morning here is the plan. Leave at 7:00PM tonight with a buddy who is actually what you would call the "last man standing."

My wife- 8 months pregnant

Best friend- had a baby two weeks ago

Other friend- twins 2 months premature two months ago

other friend- recently married and trying to have kids

Dude coming with- the one who could say yes and have  a totally comped trip to AZ

So we drive to Chicago and then fly out at 5:00AM = no sleep Thursday night

Now as far as the race:

Swim- wild card here    haven't swam much this year and no open water swims  1:15 on  a great day....1:45 if all goes to he--

Bike- perfect day maybe sub 6 if my fitness prevails closer to 7?

Run- Absolute great day 4:30 up to crawling across at 16:59

So look for me between 12 hours and 17 hours Laughing

That's quite the harried schedule.  The race might actually be a rest period.  Good Luck!  (And I pm'd you if you happen to get it)

Hey gang, just getting around to get caught up after a whirlwind week or so. Race went horrible for the first 5 hours and then turned around nicely for  a decent finish considering the fitness or lack there of that I had.

Goal for weekend is to get my race report done. Thanks for the well wishes.

You know, for $500, that Goody bag was pretty skimpy. A license plate holder and ads for other races.

Yeah, you needed to get across that line to get anything worthwhile. I guess for as much as people complain about the price of Ironman brand races, they do give you quite the show. I thought everything was top notch and worth the price.
