This is a big shout out to all the Goddesses who are making goal this week - those numbers are just dropping off the board like flies - DONE, DONE, DONE!!!  Wow!  Hope that you all feel a great sense of accomplishment - you certainly deserve it - and win or lose, some totally awesome bike riding has gotten done this month.

YOU GODDESSES TOTALLY ROCK and ROLL!!

I have a theory about this or any other challenge.

Some people will put together a stretch goal that really challenges them and as time goes by, they will get extra motivation from (pick one) the smack talk, the emotion of a challenge or the excitement that comes from just wanting to win. I think those individuals work really hard to exceed their goals and end up putting forth a higher level of effort than they thought they originally would.

There are several people who fit that category this month. I think they should be congratulated because of the effort they put forth. Perhaps their swim and run workouts suffered, but I think people on both sides of the team fence are doing great to hit and exceed their goals.

I say great job people. Everyone rode more miles (hopefully) than they would have without the challenge. I know I did.

Ditto that!  I am currently training mostly alone on the bike, which is not too fun for me.  So, this challenge really pushed me to get in the miles I needed so I can rock RAGBRAI in July.

It's not quite over yet- so Goddesses, don't forget, every mile closer to goal is a mile closer to VICTORY!

I reached my goal last night, and even though my goal was a measly 40 miles, I did more bike riding in June than May, so I feel good.  The challenge has helped me in my attitude toward riding.  I love running, I like swimming, I have been intimidated by the biking.  I liked casual riding, but stepping up my game to improve my riding was a hurdle.   But it's not so bad.  (I am uncomfortable with cars whizzing by and giving barely any room, the people (kids) that yell--it almost always startles me,  and the cars that ride your tail and won't pass even when there is no oncoming traffic). But, I am adjusting and beginning to take it for granted without thinking about it so much.

Hey there, you cute li'l cupcakes.  Have you missed me the last few days?  Sorry I haven't been around, had to ride my bike, ya' know.

Listen....do you hear that sound?  Its the sound of a precisely tuned cadence, whirring like a finely crafted machine.  Yes, its the sound of the Team Testosterbone Train, effortlessly eating up mile after powerful mile of pavement.  We are a rockin'.  We are a rollin'.  And we're coming to see you on Friday morning, ladies with a big smile on our tanned faces.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Well Mr Motivated and all of the testybones, I achieved my 350 mile goal - that was the purpose of this challenge. You have not beaten me or any other goddess who made 100% IMHO. If doing extra miles makes some of you feel more masculine, then good luck to ya mate. I never signed on to do more than that. Of course I didn't read the fine print so I may well have signed on for more than that! Great job to guys and gals alike who achieved their goals or who are going to achieve them before Friday. Some lucky charity awaits us all.

Cheers.

Thanks to Renee for heading up the Team Gear Goddesses and to everyone who has encouraged each other.  This was fun, I made a few blogger friends who I know will help me on the days I am not motivated and I hope that I will be able to do the same for others.

Team Gear Goddesses, 2 days left in the challenge.

Congratulations & Kudos to those of you who have accomplished your goals.

To those of you still striving to meet your goal, KEEP ON KEEPING ON! YOU CAN DO IT! This is a goal you set for yourself - give it all you've got to get where you want to be! Some of us have already experienced the rewards of having pushed ourselves further than we've been - increased speed and endurance. You will, too, but you've got to push yourself to reach your goal!

Hey Goddesses, the boys are crowing as if they've already won.  Anyone know where we stand?

I've officially gone over 500 miles this month.  I didn't think I could do it.  BUT...this is the strongest I've ever ridden

Keep going Goddesses!!!  Strive to meet the goals you've set for yourself, believe me you will reap the rewards!

Well, I'm planning about a 20 mile ride today and hopefully join up with CindyK's group tomorrow for another 20 or so miler which would put me somewhere around my goal. Nothing like waiting til the last minute.

Hey Brenda enjoy the ride tomorrow night!!!!  They will meet across from Common Grounds at Lake Andrea (near the softball fields).  The "B" group leaves at 5:30, you will be more comfortable with them your first time.  Look for Cathy and Susan and tell them I suggested that you come.  They're both super nice and experienced riders, but they won't kill you your first time out.  I'll try emailing them to watch for you!  Unfortunately I can't go, unless HeatherK's softball game is cancelled again.

OH, and expect more like a 30 miler, with speeds about 16-18 mph.

Also, we have a 60 mile picnic ride to Lake Geneva on Sat, which I will be on....PM me if you'd like details it would be fun to have you and it's a nice ride.  Lunch is in the same exact park we were in this weekend, provided for you (at least, it was last year).

Ladies, I have some figures of interest.

23 of you have reached or exceeded your goal (60% of team). APPLAUSE! BRAVO!

5 of you are within 5% points of reaching your goal. (GO GO GO!!!)

3 of you are below 80% of goal (not including our injured Rakusillian).

I have identified 7 Goddesses who could probably benefit from a final Team Inspire/e-Hugs/Go get 'ems. If you want the list, PM me. Let's encourage these Goddesses towards a final push to meet their goal.

GREAT EFFORT & ACCOMPLISHMENTS, TEAM GEAR GODDESS!!

p.s. Lynda would you PM to me your mileage-to-date?

Oh NO - I can't believe I'm one of only THREE below 80% - I'm dragging y'all down!!!!!!! So sorry!!!

Anyhow, I'm currently at 68% but I have a long ride scheduled tomorrow which would bring me up to 85%.  I'm swamped tonight, but I'll TRY to squeeze in an extra 15 or so which would bring me above 90% for the month total.

Every little bit helps-even 5 miles tonight gives the team a boost in the right direction!!  Do what you can, just two days left!  Go Gear Goddesses!

Other random note..I've got a ride planned tomorrow, which gives a little more cushion.  I'm very impressed with the number of us that have met or are darn close to meeting goal.  Great job ladies!
