iowagander - 2010-02-03 2:00 PM OK - all caught up now! At least on reading... Sorry I've been missing out on the fun times lately. Stupid job making me work during the day. Wish me luck on finding some good excuses for slacking in the near future...

I'm in the same boat right now Tom.  I miss my mini BT breaks during the day.  They keep me sane.

Amen to that. Don't get me wrong, on the whole I really do like my job. But there are times when I want to pick up my phone and smash it into teeny tiny little pieces. The best part is that it never starts ringing in earnest until about 3:00 when folks start getting out of school/work. Awesome...

Yesssss! Go Neal, go Neal, you can run now, go Neal. Just picture someone doing the running man while chanting that. Cause I can't do the running man. Not that I'd want to or anything.

So I still haven't had a chance to go back and read--except for this page--but I wanted to say something:

GUESS WHAT!?!?!?! Today was our 14th wedding anniversary, and Hubby gave me my anniversary gift tonight. Well, sorta. He ordered it today and told me about it tonight. I am getting a brand spankin' new all carbon road bike!!!! It's pretty and black, and will have new speedplay pedals, and SRAM components, and ergonomic-shaped carbon handlebars with oh-so-sweet bar tape. (Guess what I got for my hubby? The same bike, only in his size, LOL). He took me out for ice cream after the kids were in bed tonight, and he kept drooling over all the new bike lanes on the newly resurfaced roads around our house. The only bike I currently have is my tri bike, and I've never owned a road bike, so this will be fun. Here's a pic:    http://www.javbike.com/Amarone.html I am looking forward to sharing this sport with my hubby. Of course, he still has to learn how to swim without sinking, then he has to get his core strength up enough to not re-injure his bad back (disc problem/surgery years ago).

I'm not spoiled or anything.

Good morning everyone.

I did nothing last night. I really mean nothing.

I was feeling a bit off when I got home so I threw dinner in the microwave to thaw and thought I would take a short nap before I went from my run. I closed my eyes for about 20 minutes and when I woke up I felt horrible. I can't explain it, it just wasn't me. I made dinner, helped my daughter with her homework, and had my pajamas on before 7. I was in bed by 7:30, and asleep shortly after.

The alarm went off this morning and I didn't want to get up, but I did. My a$$ is really dragging though. I hope this passess quickly.

You sure can Robin - you are a Ghoulie.  The training gets easier and so will the runs!

skrtrnr - 2010-02-03 6:23 PM OH SUCKTASTIC TOM.

i was around all afternoon, we must have missed each other....

some interesting day i had GHOULIES.

i ended up not meeting my friend for coffee, but got some work done for Joseph.  i have three days and one evening that im still trying to fill up for him w events, soooooo send me some people who are interested in a guy that plays the Didgeridoo vibes my way, k?

its always interesting making cold calls on behalf of Joseph.  what he does is not something you explain to people on a regular basis....though i SO 'believe' in the work, i usually 'have them' by the second or third paragraph of the conversation.

my husband and i had a conversation tonight, turns out he may be able to move the closing up a week.  though.....he's going to do some 'work' before he moves in.  figure w the closing moving up, it will all 'even out' in the end.  im guessing he'll be moving in/moving out somewhere around the 26th.

i did recommend that he do the actually moving out when the kids arent around, take a day off of work.  we'll see if he takes the suggestion.

honestly (though i guess i cant blame him) he doesnt seem to be in much of a 'hurry' to move out...me, im chomping at the bit to MOVE ON.

in his defense, its a big change for him.  so im trying my best to give him 'room' to move/adjust.

i feel like having a 'celebration' (though im not sure i would use that word necessarily) to mark the occassion.

i really feel as if my life is starting over, in a good way.

i was thinking of meeting up w as many of my friends that want to join me at my happy place, MAD MEX....FOR A LIFT A GLASS TO ME EVENING.

do you think all you GHOULIES could make travel arrangements to be here for that special occassion????

that, or i will have to take my netbook with me (they have free WiFi) and you'll have to post on the thread and enjoy the evening virtually.

im thinking the FIRST FRIDAY IN MARCH.  SAVE THE DATE NOW!!!!!

what a way to start a new month, huh?

stacieb

ps.  never got to my swim.  blame it on the taper....and im planning on spinning for an hour tomorrow, and doing 4 hrs of spin on Saturday which will more than make up for my lack of training today.

Be careful what you wish for my dear. You know my introverted self is only 3 1/2 hours away, right?

They're calling for snow this weekend. I think it's supposed to start sometime tomorrow and go into Saturday afternoon. I've seen several forecasts, anywhere from 7 to 20 inches. We'll have to wait and see.

I'm thinking I may run Friday when I get home so I can stay inside in the warm on Saturday.

I have a bit of a headache. I think I'm going to curl up in a ball under my desk and take a nap. That's where I'll be if you need me.

Robin, I was also very uncertain when I signed up for my first half.  One of my gym friends, who has done several IM's, told me:  if you can run 6, you can run 7. if you can run 7, you can run 8.  And so on.  And he was right.  You just ran 6.  You can run a half.  Which one did you sign up for?

Same here.

Question of the day everyone

I can count the calories no problem

The question is what should the fat/carb/protein ration be?

I am going to leave that to the experts but I personally focus more on protein and fats and let the carbs be what they are.  No Fats = Hungry Person  High Protein = Full Tummy  Carbs = Bad because they are usually processed!

I'm just like Bill.  I make sure I am getting a source of protein with each meal and snack.  Carbs usually come from fruits and veggies.

I'm still trying to do the whole no processed foods thing.

Stacie, you still eating Paleo?

thats what im trying to get back too, but honestly the first week of this month has been a total BUST in that regard...in any regard when it comes to eating well.

im trying.
