Expert 1163 | Subject: RE: Women's May Challenge Thread wgraves7582 - 2010-05-25 1:16 PM yogachic - 2010-05-25 2:11 PM I noticed there were some ladies on our list who seem to be at a very low percentage (one person as low as 6.9%, another at 19.6%). I know I've been very erratic lately in visiting our team thread this month, but I don't really remember some of them participating in discussions since the beginning of the month. I'm not sure if this means they dropped out of the challenge but never told anyone? Can we kick people off due to abandonment? (I'm not talking about people who participate in the team & are still trying, but became injured, got busy, etc... just the ones that have been mia completely and don't seem to be working on their goals). You ladies can contact them and see what is going on! if they drop let me know and we can erase them like they never existed Sounds like a plan! I will do that tonight.... Once I figure out how to search for people by their username |

Master 1623 | Subject: RE: Women's May Challenge Thread Hey ladies! Sorry I've been so MIA posting wise, May's been crazy for me. Now I've run into a pretty big problem. I knew at the beginning of may that swimming would be hard to do this month and had 3 swims planned for this week and one on monday next week. This was going to allow me to have a rest week after my first tri and get adjusted to my work schedule and then get back to my normal 3 day a week swim sessions. Well thanks to the wonderful campus recreation office this won't happen. They put the pool times up as 9-7 monday through friday but the city swim teams use the pool from at 5-7 everyday and there's no way for me to get a lane. I was furious when i got there today and theres a million little kids in the pool. I get that the university wants to help out the local community but at least make sure you let students know when they can use the pool and when it's being used. This is not the first time this has happened to me this year. It's so frustrating... sorry mini rant over... Since I've got my internship I can't swim until after 5 every day and I would swim this weekend but it's my sister's graduation so I'm going home where theres no pool. There's no possible way for me to get in but one more swim this month... Any way I could adjust my goals to 5 swim sessions?? |

That does not sound like the least bit of fun. Get better soon. I'm sure Bill won't have a problem adjusting your goals, but we're still gonna want to see those legs when you ladies lose next week. |

Expert 1163 | Subject: RE: Women's May Challenge Thread wgraves7582 - 2010-05-25 1:43 PM These are better if you PM them that way they generally respond to those. Life may be crazy but they might still be training Just double check I don't want to cut someone out until we know for sure It is not about the legs in the end - it is about pushing ourselves But I look forward to seeing all the ladies legs!! Definitely true, it's not about winning or losing but pushing yourself to get it done! Of course winning helps :-P Also, its more fun to smack talk chat! |

There's no possible way for me to get in but one more swim this month... Any way I could adjust my goals to 5 swim sessions?? That's annoying! That happened to me when I was in college too! Luckily my college gym was right next to a beach, so I used to just swim in open water rather than the pool whenever there was an kiddie swim practice. Of course at the time, I wasn't training for tris so I thought OWS was a pain in the butt Hopefully the kind, benevolent Bill will be sympathetic to your dilemma |

Master 2042 Albany, NY | Subject: RE: Women's May Challenge Thread The heat is crazy this week so I opted not to kill myself outside yesterday and opted to run at the indoor track at the Y last night before my swim. Both actually went ok, I've just had a killer headache since then. I'm not sure if it's dehydration from the heat, from my goggles which bruised me for some reason or both... |

Master 2042 Albany, NY | Subject: RE: Women's May Challenge Thread Hopefully I can get the hydration levels back up and get rid of the headache - I have a run planned for this afternoon and a ride tonight. Swim and ride for tomorrow and 2 good long workouts this weekend. Haven't decided how I'm going to space them out between Fri-Sun yet though since I'm still finalizing Memorial Day party plans (Yeah!!). I should be little over my swim goal, at 105% of my bike goal (if my weekend ride goes as planned) and should hit my run goal. The only way I won't is if I get lazy... which I sometimes do when it comes to running... so I may need a swift kick in the azz later this weekend! |

Champion 14677 | Subject: RE: Women's May Challenge Thread WOW, I just read back a page. Hope everyone gets to feeling better! I adjusted my goals down with Bill's blessing. I will make 100 % in all of them in spite of Memorial day party. We have folks that come in from Friday to Monday with about 100 extra folk coming in on Saturday. No body wants to see my legs. We HAVE to win! |
