Dream Chaser - 2011-04-01 8:38 AM Hey guys, BIG NEWS: The company I am working for is making some big changes and revamping and I have to go to Brazil for 6 months.  I'll be setting up a Logisitics Warehouse and Test Facility and it's going to be around-the-clock work for me starting this Thursday when I leave, and I won't be back until approximately late-October, early-November.  Definitely before the Holidays.  Unfortunately I will not have access to internet for the first few weeks, nor will I have time for anything but work.  However, they are paying me a nice bonus to do this and I just couldn't turn down such an opportunity.  So triathlon will have to wait until next year, and I look forward to logging back in this Autumn and seeing that everyone achieved there goals and trained consistently throughout the year.  YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!  I'll miss everyone and I hope you all understand.

Holy Cow, Bobby, that is BIG NEWS!  We will certainly miss you and we'll try to make the group work as best we can!

Brazil...wow!  Do you get to take the family with you?

They are giving me a montly residence allowance of $5,000 which would cover a a home big enough, plus cover a private school tuition; but we decided since it's only temporary, we won't pull the kids out of school.  Plus, I would never be home anyway because we are setting up a hi-tech warehouse and test facility in 6 months that would normally take 2.5 years; so I am going to be working close to round the clock.  So I won't have any time to train, or be on the internet.

Dream Chaser - 2011-04-01 10:49 AM HAPPY APRIL FOOLS FRIDAY EVERYONE!!

I have changed my avatar to a picture of Sidd Finch and will leave it that way for the remainder of April as a reminder of how utterly gullible I am.

For those of you who may not be familiar w/Sidd Finch, here's a link.

When I was leaving the pool today, I stuck my head into the office and said to the girl and head lifeguard with a straight face, "Someone is projectile vomiting all over the pool deck!"  They were like OMG and the lifeguard was about to bolt to the pool.  And I said "April Fools" and smiled.  They cracked up laughing.  Good times

You're a nut!  I was sucked in...

Well a sad move for us but sounds like an amazing opportunity for you!!  Hopefully your family can join you after the school year is over.  My hubby recently did something similar albeit shorter term and like you - he did the longer hours.  He really missed having us around and said he'd only do it again if there were regular flights home every 2 weeks and/or we'd be there with him.  The latter sounded good

All the best!  Maybe you should get in to some extreme sports while you are there!!

ETA:  Okay wait - what part was the April Fools joke?  The replacement mentor (which I was hooked til I scrolled down) or the whole Brazil thing?  *CLEARLY* I trust too easily...

Ok, so March wasn't all that balanced, well actually, as Marcia pointed out, REAL balanced with the Bike and the Run but i don't think a 1:1 ratio is what I should be striving for.

March's totals:
Bike:5h 06m 53s  - 101.89 Mi
Run:15h 41m 35s  - 101.01 Mi
Swim:40m 09s  - 1749.78 Yd

So, the goals for April will be to get the bike and swim more in line:

Bike:200 Mi
Run:80  Mi
Swim:10,000 Yd

He allegedly threw the baseball 168 miles per hour while wearing a single hiking boot and was torn between playing baseball or the tuba.  And people read this article and for a second thought it was real!!!  HA!

Well since you're still our mentor!!

Is there a way to add custom workouts other than going through your blog and manually import?  I tried saving the plan to an .csv file and import but it failed.

I would post that on the site support forum...usually answered pretty quickly.

I didn't even think anything of this.  My company could call me tomorrow and say, "Hey, Mike, you're moving to Atlanta (yuck!)...Northern New Jersey (really yuck!), or Japan (!!!...would've been pretty cool until about three weeks ago)."

Glad you're staying around, pardner...gotta run vicariously through you!

HAPPY MONDAY MORNING GROUP.   Yeah, I know -- happy and Monday in the same sentence.

Our first FULL WEEK of April Training!!  Let's start strong.  I've found when I set a monthly goal, it's often best to get a good start.  Nothing ensures a better finish and builds confidence like a good start... and getting started is more than half the battle.

If we start well, we can see the finish line -- see our goal materializing.  If we start and slow, by the half-way point we can dig ourselves too deep a hole to climb out of and we lose hope.  If we start STRONG, by the halfway point we can see that we've met half our goal, and it gives us the ENERGY and CONFIDENCE to finish the last half strong and meet that goal.

So let's get Focused and let's Get Started!!  April is OURS for the Taking!!!  Spring has Sprung!

Yup!  I'm avoiding that 'slough of despond'
1 hr run down - 8 more hours to go
2 hr bike DONE! - 23 more to go
For me the challenge will be the swim. If I don't get on it I'll have to be at the pool daily!!
