O hai! I've been terrible at posting stuff. I'm tired, lol! Training has picked up, so still working on my fitness. Haven't been able to get back to the google doc to log and stuff, though I really haven't changed weight wise. Wish I had gotten body fat and other measurements at the beginning. I feel slimmer even if the scale hasn't moved much. I've been having to take off my wedding band to swim so it won't slip off. My shoulders are getting jacked! Well, for a soccer player that doesn't use her arms much, lol! The swimming and hauling the mountain bike around seems to be working on my upper body.

Hope you're all doing well!!

Scale was at 200.5 this morning! Soooo close to the 100's again.... maybe things will cooperate by Friday's weigh-in so it can be "official."

Breathe IN when you weigh yourself on Friday for the official 100s!

Heh heh, even if I don't see "1" in front of two digits on the scale tomorrow, I'll be able to take solace in the fact that my 34's are fitting great around the waist (a thumb or two space)... although they are kinda tight in the thigh.  Musta been the ice cream two weeks ago (a moment on the lips forever on the hips as my pappy used to say (I never really had a "pappy" but I imagine that if I did, he would have said that).

Happy weigh-in day, everyone!

Good news here:  down another half pound! Basically just keeping at what I've been doing:  tracking calories like a mad woman and eating healthy probably 95% of the time.  And now that I'm completely through the caffeine withdrawal and PMS headaches, I've been getting some good training in as well.

I'm now just under my reward goal of 145# (I'm at 144.4), and will buy myself a present if I can maintain over the weekend and still be <145 on Monday morning.

Have a great day!!

Good job folks!

I WAS down 1.5 pounds. Today I am up. What is with that? I'll weigh tomorrow and see. Still logging and the workouts are picking up. I am not where I want/need to be for consistency but I feel like I am near the brim of the hole I have been in for a couple of years and ready to actually climb out.

Good job on logging and sticking with the workouts.  I'm glad that you feel like you are in a better place now than in the last couple of years.  That itself is as good of progress as any.  Keep it up!  We'll be rooting for you.

Weigh in this morning saw a 1 on the scale in front of the other two numbers!

199.5lbs and 16.53% BF!  Ok, a shade under 200, but I feel great, my pants fit better and I've lost about 9lbs of fat and gained 6lbs of muscle in the last 4 weeks.  So if the scale isn't moving that much, at least my body comp is and that is really what I care about.  It is kinda fun to see people's faces when they guess my weight (usually guess 180-185) and I tell them 200 (no, this isn't how I introduce myself to people, but sometimes it comes up in conversation.... rarely) so if I stay around this weight (I'm 6'0") at least it fits my frame (It's all in the legs).

Great job, Tom!!  That's awesome.

And Robin - sometimes it's just a matter of getting that momentum headed in the right direction and after a slow start things pick up speed... just keep on keepin' on, ya know?

Right there with you. Was down to my losest weight like I was last week on Thursday and both fridays it has gone up almost a lb. Bouncing between the two numbers. Did yesterday what I have been doing all week - same portions of food and everything and the numbers went back up. But.. my workouts have been better the last two weeks (almost an hour a day) and my food has been in check for the most part and I have cut soda down this week and upped the water so all good things. Now if the scale would cooperate we would be good. Hang in there. I am trying to as well.

I fixed column J on the worksheet to calculate everyone's progress toward their weight loss goal.  I assumed that this was the original intent, but I can change it back to what it was doing before.  I find the new info a little more informative than the old calculation that it was doing.  Either way, there are several people doing really well on their progress!  Best of luck to everyone on the 50 days remaining in the challenge!

Tom,

Spreadsheet looks pretty good, but I have a question.  How is it calculating that I have 10 lb left to lose when I am currently about 4 lb from the goal wt?

Because for some reason that 10.7 was entered in as a number, the formula wasn't there anymore (fixed).  Now it should auto-update for you whenever you put in your new weight.

Go here to sign up.  We will just track weights in the spreadsheet but you still need to track your other stats and photos in your blog.

Tom - thanks for fixing the spreadsheet!

How's everyone doing this Monday?  Good weekends all around?

I had a surprisingly good weekend, at least in terms of weight loss, especially since I went on an absolute food bender on Friday (think:  bakery goods, italian sausage sandwich, fries, milkshake... and NO training).

No problemo (I work work with xcel quite a bit).

The weekend was ok, we have been having prospective graduate student social weekends the last 2 weekends (students come in and get to meet the department's students and faculty during formal meetings and then two parties [one with grad students, one with everyone]).  I did well this weekend by staying away from the free beer/wine and only one piece of pizza.  I had one glass of wine at the potluck and stayed away from anything fried or sweet (ok, one small cookie).

We did buy "healthy ice cream" at the grocery store (double/slow-churned lowfat/cal) during the last P90X grocery run.  Could have been worse.

We must be doing well as I am slowly losing weight (mostly changing fat to muscle), and my wife is changing weight and body composition at a healthy rate.

Happy V-day all.
