I tried it once out of curiosity (I'm a grad student and it seemed like the only people I dealt with on a daily basis were other grad students who apparently have no social skills and never see the sun, so I wanted to see what else was out there) and I immediately got so many creepy messages that I quickly shut down my profile. That's the truth. I've seen some of the inboxes of my female friends that are on various sites and it's creepy as hell. Seemingly a bit more filtered on pay sites (like match) but not completely void. The biggest problem I had with match was that in order to respond both parties need to be paying members, total bonk. Not to mention there's no indicator that the one you are emailing even has paid for a membership. Yep - the only indicator is the number of emails that never get read..... Instead - match.com uses the emails sent to you, or that you send - as a way to say "Upgrade now - and read / respond to this email". |

Master 1890 Gig Harbor | Subject: RE: Triathlon Dating Thread I think I am having thread withdrawls.... This thread appears to be dead now - but I just wanted to share that the OK Cupid website is way cool! I just signed up - no money required....and I like their system much, much better than MuckFatch.com. We shall see soon whether any more dates result from it (shouldn't be hard to beat ZERO) - but as far as the site itself goes - it's pretty cool. Thought I would let all you "online daters" know. |

It only matched me with dudes looking for women 70 and older. It's frightening how many profiles came to me with that age range and some of these guys are in there 40's. I couldnt seem to get the change to stick so I gave up. Ha!!!! I think I am having thread withdrawls.... Yeah but that's just like real life, no? At least it is for me. Just gotta filter well in both situations. |

Ive never signed up for an online site and went here about 45 minutes ago,,,,,,my goodness all the questions I finally had to retire from them for the evening. I put my age in correct and it sent me lots of matches suggestions and such but when I went to see what they were looking for they had age groups for gals 25-40 years old.....and granted most of these dudes were 38 and up? Hmmmmmmm guarantee they couldnt keep up with the "old" 44 year old! LOL |

LOL The questions are a bit overwhelming at first - but just answer like 50 of them...then go do a search - when you see someone you like, click their profile, then on the tabs just below their picture - click "The two of us" - on the right side - you can click "he cares about" and it will show you the questions he answered that are important to him - and you can also answer those same and see how much you match. I discovered all this on accident, so thought I would share. I think it is a cool system. Much better than MuckFatch.com |

A lot of women just turn off the chat feature, because it's common to have creeps chat with you. (Turning it off is in the bottom right corner.) I don't know what kind of pics you've posted, but if it's anything suggestive at all, you're going to get creeps. |

Nothing suggestive at all, one of myself in a blue dress from Christmas which is on BT GIRLS page as well as my photos, one after I finished a 50K in January and one when I had my hair cut with bangs last month again on here. He then went on to ask if I was bean pole or curvy and Im like i look like my photo! Then asked my bra size and I just found a block button LOL Sounded like all the first most important things to know about someone |

Master 2099 Madison, WI | Subject: RE: Triathlon Dating Thread I mentioned way earlier in the thread that I've heard it's a very regional dating site. IOW - in some regions it's sex trolling. In other regions, it's legit. So, you might be in one of those nasty regions. I was also told that there are regions where the Craigslist personals aren't just people looking to buy or sell sex. Blew my mind. |

Master 1890 Gig Harbor | Subject: RE: Triathlon Dating Thread wooo hoooo - got my first email from a lady on match.com! According to her email, she lives in Texas, and really loves animals. She posted 5 pics - 1 of her dog - 1 of a flower - 2 blurry ones (one in which she is kissing her dog).... Says she has one kid - 13, dads not in the picture so "no drama from that aspect". (should I tell her that no baby daddy around is drama, because I am not interested in raising someone else's kid?) I think I am moving to Texas! |
