Holy Cow so much news and great news at that.  Ok here goes - I hope I don't forget anyone.

Good luck Dan!!!!!  Have fun Linda w/ the family.

Congrats Kim and Linda on Boston.

Congrats Christina on taking the plunge!

Roni - that trail sounds awesome although I'd pass out from the height then fall off the cliff.

Linda - my best friend did that race a few years ago.  She said it was great.  It can be really, really cold at the start.  Swim is fast w/ the current, fast bike and run but some wind.  Tracy also did the IM distance as a relay with her husband.  She could give you some course details.

Oh and no racing for me this weekend.

Actually excited about cross season too.  Fun races to be the spectator - yummy food, good beer and usually great venues for the kids to have fun.  So it's a win-win-win for our family.

SSMinnow - 2011-09-15 8:44 AM Ok, in my post IM stupor, I completely forgot yesterday was WEDNESDAY!!  Who the heck is about to add some excitement to the weekend?  Racing? Spill it!

First HIM on Sunday which is Saturday for those of you in the US and Canada.  I am not sure if there is a way to track me, but it is an Ironman sponsored event (Ironman 70.3 Centrair Tokoname Japan) and I am bib #937.

I'm heading out the door at 5:30 tomorrow morning (9-10 hour drive each way - driving with a buddy who is also doing the race) and unless I run into free internet at one of the hotels, you won't hear from me again until Monday.

Many thanks for all of the great advice.  Hopefully, I will remember some of it when I need it most.

Cheers,

Dan

Good luck, Dan!!!!

X2 Dan, have a great race, looking forward to hearing about it!

X3, Have a great race, Dan! You only have one first HIM! Smile when it feels good, smile when it hurts! We will be thinking happy feet for your run.

Again trying for first Cyclocross race of the season.  Charm City in Baltimore MD.  This is a UCI race, which means they have pro's racing, should be cool to see some of those guys out there.  I'm racing the 1/2/3/4 35+ class which means I will get lapped by the 1/2's and hopefully am able to hang with the 3/4's who I normally race with.

Registered late so I am starting 120 out of 125 which is kind of like starting at the back of the swim and having to work your way through the masses, lots of fun : )

Have fun, Tony! I hope this one doesn't get rained out or otherwise moved, rescheduled, or canceled!

Family is doing a "magnificent mile" race.   They seperate the men and women, so I will be pacing my 7 yr old daughter and hubby will pace the fast boys   It's a local race, but suppose to draw some elite runners (last years winner was 4:10, with 14 under 5:00).  Zoom.  Will be fun!

This sounds like so much fun. Have a great time, Linda!

Go Dan, Tony, and Linda!! Awesome racing all around!

Just another Slacker Weekend planned here... a few soccer games, dinner out with friends, trying to sleep in (why do I wake up earlier on weekends w/o the alarm than during the week??!!), run a few miles... the usual!!

Good luck, Tony and Linda on your fun races! Good luck, Slacks, on sleeping in. I get to be a race Sherpa this weekend for Kathy's dragon boat team, the Kaiser Dragon Healers. My job is to bring 8 pounds of cooked bacon and 4 pounds of sausage to the race site by 6:15am on Saturday morning, and then stand there and serving it to hungry paddlers. While it is for a large group of people, imagine triathletes eating this stuff before racing? Yikes! Good thing I am used to getting up at the crack of stupid.

Didn't she have a race already this summer?? Wow Kim, you are going above and beyond the call of duty here. Cool

And you know there is totally a joke there about the sausages.

Fun weekend coming up.....long ride, long run, cross-country meet in the middle of what should be the long ride time.  a little over this whole long training thing right now.

Wah.

Loved the yoga mat!!!  I have one still in it's original wrapper.  Yup, still on my to-do list!

Good luck to the racers and the sherpas.  Suck it up, Kim-----you owe LOTS of race support!!!  Wink
