I am tracking a friend who is running the Norhtcoast 24 Hour Endurance run. He has gone 27 miles in just under 4 hours around a track less than one mile long. I think I would need a serious ice bath and some meds after that!

TrevorC - 2011-09-17 10:24 AM should be interesting this morning. heading out to the moutains to ride trails. I haven't ridden a MTB in 10 years in the moutains...

have fun.  don't break any bones.

great weather here in the ATL.  nice run this morning.  now a cup of hardy harr har.

RISE UP JAPAN!!!!

My lazy @$$ slept until 7:40am -- wheeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When can we start tracking our pal? I haven't had enough coffee to get the translater going on the web site...

there's an engligh conversion button on the upper left.

looks like the pros go off at 0730.  i can't find any wave other than groups of 200.  they are 13 hours ahead of the east coast.  ironmanlive isn't showing tracking for the race

edit.  entry fee is 42000 yen = 546 dollars. wow!

Thanks for pointer to English button. That helps tremendously!!

OK, 13 hours ahead of east coast. That's more math... but my Spidey Sense tells me they haven't started yet.

Is the entire run around a track??? Wow, 27 miles in less than 4 hours and 20 more hours to run is downright insane. The endurance running people are fascinating to me. Definitely of a different mold.

Well I did the same this morning ...haven't been out on a mtn bike in "never years", had a trek 800 with no shocks, never again, never again, I am surprised I did not do a header into a tree.....technical trail was really tough but a lot of fun despite the bike.....

Sounds like fun . . . for you maybe!! LOL  Time to add a new steed to your stable??

------------------

I had an awesome trail run this morning.  It was in a small protected woodland with lots of small hills.  I did three loops without watching my time.  My splits were: 17:50, 17:05, 16:04.  I'm finally starting to feel like a runner, and I think I'm ready for next weekend's race.  BRING IT!!

Can somebody just let us know how Dan's doing?  I have enough trouble with time zones in this hemisphere.  Ugh.

GO RACERS!!

Actually Dave, I will send you a copy of the conversation Kyla and I had 'off-line'.Once I called her on this comment she really started to 'open up to me' but she wasn't comfortable letting others listen in. Although she did say something about enjoying things in public.

oh ya, MTB is hard. HR goes from Zone 1 to 5 in 30 seconds!

Funny story unrelated to the yoga conversation...at the festival today, the Marines had a booth with a chin up bar..prizes awarded to women based on how long they could hold the bar in a locked position. Kathy wanted me to win her a beanie which meant holding over 1:10. I ended up winning the crazy beanie and first place bragging rights, the crowd went wild and it was like the finish chute all over again! Well...not really, but it was fun to have the beefy marines ask me to enlist...sorry it wasn't Navy, might have been tempted.

Remind me never to get you mad at me! I was not even there and I am impressed.

I am taking a break from the 6 girls that are sleeping over for my daughter's 13th B-day party.  As a 50 year old man I can barely relate to them. Laughing

no where to track that i could find. even on IM website just shows Syracuse tracker. Then you translate the Japanese site, and it just shows results.

Go back to your Yoga. I heard you hips dig it.

Beautiful weekend here, Spring has arrived, 30 deg (Celsius!) today.Started out with nippers - kids surf club training - I love this, I do water safety which means ocean swimming with kids ranging from 7 to 10 years today. even the 7 year olds managed a 150m ocean swim! After that a bit of surfing then a 1 hour barefoot beach run with my dog - George the beautiful yellow Labrador.

Dan, let us know when you can how your race was, we tried but could not track you.

My friend at the 24 hr. run stopped after 60 miles in under 17hrs. The leader did 146 miles in under 23  so far!

Ugh, I forgot how hard cross was.  LOL 45 minutes raced for 9 miles at 11mph average.  AHR = 165.

We didn't have any races last year that were sloppy.  It was a bit greasy as people put it.  A few mud pits to ride through where the mud seemed to be a few inches deep.  Just had to power through those sections.  2 sand pits, 1 set of stairs to climb and 2 barrier sections.  I signed up late for this race so I was 113th in line out of 125 so the sprint from the start was fun, had handlebars on both hips for a bit.

My back started to tighten up a bit on the 3rd lap from all the technical sections, and I ended up getting a bit sloppy and fell 2x on some of the off camber sections.  Got lapped for the first time ever in a race but we were racing with the Cat 1 & 2 guys also so don't feel so bad.

Spent about an hour yesterday cleaning all the mud off my bike and this AM taking the cranks off so I can clean out the BB.  Mud is fun but it sucks to have to clean out of every crevice on the bike.  I even had some in my shifters from one of the times I crashed.

So as usual it hurt but it was a good hurt and they had nice cold beer after the race so that made the hurt go away.

As always I highly recommend spectating at a Cyclocross race if racing them isn't your thing.  The vibe at them is kind of like an oudoor party.

Unfathomable!  That's a 9:26/mi pace for the leader.  I can hardly do that for a short distance.

I met a woman the other night who has paced for long distance runners.  Most recently she paced a woman in the overnight hours.  Pitch dark, flashlight, technical trails in the mountains.  Sounds like fun!
