Elite 3494 Renton, Washington | Subject: RE: Running with Scissors GLUB GLUB! I nearly lost my bloody contact in the pool tonight. I am such a NUGGET! Imagine trying to find a BLUE contact in a BLUE swimming pool! MWAHAHAHAHAHHAHA. Got in another 1.99 miles. Don't ask me why I didn't just go 2.00. Well my plan is only 24 minutes so meh, that's it. That's why. Had a marvellous swim after I fought some people for part of a lane. Pants. The lot oh them. Playing around in the lane while I'm standing there looking like a right with my pull, goggles and cap hoping they'll take the hint that I'm actually there to SWIM!!!!! I never have the guts to say anything.
Ok, blabber over. I hope you are all having a spiffy weekend and running hard....with scissors of course! |

Ok, blabber over. I hope you are all having a spiffy weekend and running hard....with scissors of course! Here's what I do when the kids try to take over my lane. (Note: if they were actually SWIMMING, I wouldn't mind - But they're playing catch with a ball, or jumping from the deck onto kickboards, etc... Plus, there are OTHER lanes that are OPEN, so I have no clue why they feel compelled to hang out into my lane....) 1) I ask them nicely if they can move to an open lane. 2) If they don't move - if their parents are there (not likely - they tend to use the pool as daycare substitute), I ask the parents to ask them to move. 3) If they still don't move, then I TELL them to move. 4) If they still don't move, I just swim over 'em. Of course, if we get to #4 on the list, I'm generally so aggravated that my heart rate is up, and all that adrenaline does wonders for my swim times. |

Lynne -- This part of your post: Got in another 1.99 miles. Don't ask me why I didn't just go 2.00. Well my plan is only 24 minutes so meh, that's it. - was sandwiched in between your all comments about swimming..... So I sat here, wondering how you could SWIM 1.99 miles in 24 minutes!!!! (At 12 min/mile - that would have been a world record pace.) Then I realized -- you were probably talking about running. LOL! Edited by D001 2008-02-09 10:34 AM |

Elite 3489 Lakewood, CO | Subject: RE: Running with Scissors Due to laziness and not wanting to deal with the logistics necessary, I didn't ride to my race this morning. As such, I actually had to do a warm up (instead of letting the ride take care of it) So with the warm up and cool down, I went well over today's planned time. I am right on pace for the month now. Lets keep it going everyone, I don't want to have a Patriots avatar next month |

Pro 4343 Olney, MD | Subject: RE: Running with Scissors No more runs for me this week, but I'm right on target. Got out today for a 27 mile ride; nice tailwind on the way out, but, of course, it was an annoying head wind on the way back. 15.9mph ave out, 12.4mph back! Tomorrow is a well needed rest day (nothing but a mani/pedi on the schedule ) |
