So Cat, what's going on with your back????

No idea but my goodness Im in pain... not good at all.... its right in the lower back in the curve _ I assume its a muscle issue... myabe my belly finally got too big for it to support when Im riding the spin bikes?

Ouch! Heating pads and ibuprofen always help me when I have back problems in that area.

Heat has definatley been good - I did NOT want to get out of the shower this morning.. I have no ibuprofen right now but I will get some on my way home... (it upsets my tummy and makes me feel a bit ill so I reserve it for emergencies) - thanks for the advice!

I had to turn down the lunchtime Spin Class today which was so disappointing - I hope im ok for next week!

Do you guys have the sticky heat pads (like Thermacare?)? I usually wear those during the day at work and it really helps loosen the muscles up.

Im sure we have something.... will look into a hot water bottle or something from home to bring to work tomorrow if Im not feeling much better...

i had a gooey blue ice/heat pack thing here at work for awhile but it split.. if work was near a chemist I would go get something but its at least 10 minutes or so wlak away which I just dont feel up to!

That's pretty much how I feel, too.  I was injured at the end of last season and finally got better in November.  This started in December and has been getting progressively worse.

I just want them to figure out what is wrong so that I can get better and move on.

Well, the basketball game is over, so I am going to head to bed.

Goodnight, Cat!  Hope your back gets straightened out.

Goodnight, anyone else who is up!

Morning Nibbs!

Let's see. I've got to run errands, finish laundry, try to clean my kitchen, lunch with hubby and drag kids to the track today after school so I can get my workout done. I just couldn't get up at 5:30 this morning to run around the track in the dark alone. Go figure.

Cat, try the chiro. Especially if you know one that is sports-oriented. Mine is a cyclist as well so he knows how to hit my low back just right. He also does wonders for my neck.

Jen, I hope the hernia is nothing horribly serious and can get repaired without too much down time.

No more pain and injuries for Nibbs!

Morning Nibbs!

Abdomen is hurting a little less today.  I'm very much reconsidering doing the duathlon this weekend.  I will probably volunteer at it instead of racing.  I think the race would be too much stress.

What do you guys think?  I need some support and backup on this one.  It's hard to back out of a race.

Uh, Jen...RACE ON A HERNIA?  What did the doc say?

I'm with 'follow doctor's orders' on this one.  I think volunteering and jockstrapping would be great training motivation for after you heal...

She kind of grimaced and said "Well, I know how important races are to you, but you're going to be in a lot of pain and there is the potential to make it worse."

I know it's the right call in my head, but emotionally it's really hard.

Man that stinks, Jen.  Volunteer and stay healthy.  You are too early in the season to mess up the whole thing now!

Yeah. Volunteer and heal. If you are anything like me, you don't hold back during races. Then not only are you in pain and possibly making things worse, you beat yourself up about a bad time and play the what if game on what could have been if you weren't in pain. Volunteering sound like the way to go.

Home from work, laundry started and dinner cooking (who made chilli yesterday?  I got the idea from you!)  Work is getting more interesting but some of it is sooooo boring.  Oh well, I wanted out of the ER and I wanted a day shift job that gave me weekends and holidays off...

Have I ever told you how much I like your sig line?

Right now, every moment seems like forever. But I did manage to get out of bed, and you have no idea how much your messages and inspires mean to me. No idea.

Getting out of bed, that's a good start.  Getting dressed and out of the house to work-progress.  Finding a way to make others laugh--you stil do that.  I was at work this morning when I saw the thing in your blog about toilet paper and using coffee filtes!  Almost spit on the monitor!

Have you gotten set up with the person you were looking into?

Afternoon Nibbs. Just long lost Kendra checking in here. Glad that it's only 20 pages to catch up on after 5 days missing in action and not the thousand it used to be. LOL

What have I missed?

Just going to pile on here, but

Jen! What are you thinking???!!!???!!! Volunteer... or heck, if it's storming like the weather said this morning - stay in bed and rest. Don't aggravate the hernia...rest, get better, and enjoy a FULL season of racing.

That is all.

Jen – volunteer and heal, stay home and heal, just heal!!!

Sal – I’m still waiting on that pic

Cat – take care of your back. They aren’t fun

Dee – when do they interview for the positions? When will they start?

Beth – Luckily you still have clothes for cold weather don’t you? Wonder what SLC will be like that same weekend.

Did someone say cheesecake?
