Ugh, doesn't look like I will get anything in today.  Oh, the pressure of the last week and so many miles to log.  I will get 'er done!!!!  Took the kids to the indoor rock climbing walls, Rocky's for lunch and then home for the pool.  I can't very well leave them unsupervised, so I got the grass cut in the backyard while they were swimming.  Just call me efficient  Now that my 2 year old is up I have to entertain her as well.  Working out in the summer just got harder now that the kids are all home.  **sigh**  Looking forward to working the food tent at the church festival tonight.  Hoping the live music is good.  Have a safe and happy weekend everyone.  Good luck to those with events.

Best ride for me today in AGES.   Rode a new route that I've never done before and LOVED it.   Picked up just over 25 miles this morning.   That puts me over the top plus my 10% on the bike portion of the challenge and at about 94% over all.

I plan to finish up my swim yardage on Monday, and I'll get the last 6 miles running in -hopefully on Tuesday.

Hope all have a great weekend!

GO GECKO's!

I did a pre ride on the course for next weeks tri.  No PR's expected here.  It is rolling hills almost the whole thing.  Did it twice and both times I had to walk up the last hill before the turn around.  BUT, it was 38.4 miles and  hrs 41 min of saddle time to log in today.  My swim will feel awesome tomorrow afternoon....especially after a 5 mile run before church

Don't forget to update your BT logs and the team spreadsheets by midnight tonight. And remember - You now have a little EXTRA INCENTIVE.....

You may now achieve 110% of your individual goals!

For example:
Your swim goal may now reach 110%
Your run goal may now reach 110%
Your bike goal may now reach 110%
Your "other" goal may now reach 110%

What does this mean?
- If you want to give yourself an extra push and challenge yourself this month --> GO FOR IT!
- If you have a teammate who is lagging --> Here's your chance to HELP YOUR TEAM!

Each individual goal will be capped at 110%. (In other words, you can't do 125% of a goal.) This means that you could, conceivably, reach a "super achiever" 110% total.

So what are you waiting for? Get out there and do some training!

Thanks!

Hey Dee, I edited the formulas in the spreadsheet to top out at 110%.  We had someone already at 114%, so it made a difference.

Thanks! I'd checked all the team spreadsheets this morning, so those would be "new entries."

Someone (not on our team) was at something like 174%. LOL

Guess I'm the guilty party there -- I was at 114% of goal on bike as of yesterday.   Sorry to "throw a wrench in the works", but I had to get my ride in!

June Challenge Team Standings - Week #3

June is now 73% completed, and we're almost at the END OF THE CHALLENGE! Here's how the teams stand, with just over a week to go:

FIRST PLACE - Kamikaze Geckos - 65.9%
SECOND PLACE - Totally Nutty Triathletes (TNT) - 61.3%
THIRD PLACE - Avatar Avengers - 58.6%
FOURTH PLACE - Cheesecake Lovers - 56.5%

Congratulations to the KAMIKAZE GECKOS!

BUT June isn't over yet! We still have 8 more days to go! So remember - if you don't MOVE IT this month, your team is likely to LOSE IT!

And remember - You may now achieve 110% of your individual goals! This means you can challenge yourself even more, or help out teammates who may be struggling to meet their goals.

For example:
Your swim goal may now reach 110%
Your run goal may now reach 110%
Your bike goal may now reach 110%
Your "other" goal may now reach 110%

Each individual goal will be capped at 110%. (In other words, you can't do 125% of a goal.) This means that you could, conceivably, reach a "super achiever" 110% total.

Need a reminder of what happens at the end of June?

The winning team(s) will display a signature line: "My team won the June Challenge!"

All other (losing) teams will display an avatar of something that SHOULD have made them move more! This could be your shoes (ie: you should have run more), or your bike (ie: you should have biked more), or your bathing suit (ie: you should have swam more), or.... etc.

Avatars and signature lines will be displayed for the month of July. After that, it's your choice whether to leave it, or remove it.

- Dee

No, you're fine. 114% is wonderful.

Actually, there are people on all the teams who have hit that "maximum" amount. That's one of the things I check when I calculate the rankings.

I did it so we didn't get too excited about being higher than we actually were.  That happened one month and it sucked.

Got in 66 minute run today.

For my goals, I have to do:

Swim: 113 minutes

Bike: 214 minutes

Run:  213 minutes

I'm not really concerned about the bike and swim goals.  The run goal is going to be kind of a stretch.  I'll do what i can.

Hey, Geckos!

I'm back from the beach. I didn't do anything while I was there - well, nothing that counts as training! Lots of splashing, floating, etc.

But I got a 4-mile run in this afternoon after I got back. Swim and bike will be done, easy - run...well, I'm working on it.

Keep it up, team!
