I signed up for the Cranberry Tri.  It's not until August- So i will probably go crazy..but what harm will a little extra training do?

Wow, that is very exciting Monica, good for you...get ready wonderful adventure, it will be tough at times, but totally worth it... Congrats to you.

MDHillSlug - 2009-01-08 6:56 PM Tomorrow is supposed to be my day off this week but I'm thinking about doing Pilates in the AM. Should I just suck it up and really take a rest day?

I say wait til tomorrow and see how you feel...

rest is a good thing ~ ~ but tomorrow when you wake up if you feel like going and you have the time...then by all means you should go.

Hey Gang! Looks like some of you had some great workouts today and no doubt that tomorrow will lead to more action...unless of course it is time for a rest. Yesterday, was my rest day and I was definitely needing it. This group has had me so inspired to go go go but I think my body was saying "wassup with all of this?!! I need a break!" So I got home for work and put on my PJ's.

Thank you for all the inspires- way too awesome- how did I only just discover BT?! My apologies for not being able to get out there myself Embarassedbut I will be sure to make up for it this weekend- be prepared to be bombarded by inspires! I will be your biggest cheerleader...wait, I was a cheerleader (a long time ago!).

I have been trying to keep up with all of the reading on the thread though unfortunately have not had the time to respond and participate as much as I would like. So again, please forgive me for jumping around a bit while you are thinking, "ummmm Yvonne, that topic was so yesterday!" Embarassed but I do want to chat about training tools, heart rate training, wetsuits, and other gear, as well as exciting stuff like signing up for your first triathlon- GO MONICA!!!!

Time to get cleaned up after my track workout and get somethings together for tomorrow- like a test for probability and figuring out how to teach gerunds, participles, and infinitives.

I look forward to catching up with you all this weekend. Hope you all have a fabulous Friday!

Good morning everyone -- it's Friday!!!!  My second favorite day of the week (Saturday is the best!).

Anyone have any big training plans?  This is my last weekend to be serious for awhile -- next weekend I leave for a ski trip, and directly from that trip I go on a business trip to San Diego.  So I'm going to hit it heavy this weekend -- lots of biking and running.

I also have a "date" with my new swimming buddy on Monday.  I'm finally going to get in the pool again soon!

my kids and i are "sleeper-iners" i've been up already for like 40 minutes! *YAWN*
ok then, i don't think i'm running today, as dh is leaving in like 10 minutes for a meeting, and i won't have anyone to watch the monkeys-so it looks like strength and pilates for me today. ho hum.
i probably needed a somewhat quiet day today anyway, knee is bugging a bit.

anyway, good morning all, what's on the plate today?

Lyssa (or anyone else here),

I have some Shimano PD-M505 spd mtb pedals I'm willing to give away. They are the ones that sometimes come with a new bike. They are not as light as some of the higher models, but they do the job. They would work with those shoes that Julie is offering. If you want them, let me know.

thanks nicole, i'm sending you a pm right now.
let me know about shipping/cookies/whatever.

I did take today (so far) as a rest day. Unfortunately, that doesn't include sleeping in but I did set the alarm for 1.5 hrs later than usual. It definitely felt strange to not work out on a weekday morning.

I'll be up early for a run tomorrow, and out for a longer bike ride on Sunday.

March 11. I really don't feel this old. My son may be 17 but I haven't aged that much during his lifetime. How is that possible? Must be a warp in the space-time continuum!

my kids are 8 (ds) 4 (dd) and 2 (ds) no school or daycare, we homeschool, and since dh works swing, our regular school day doesn't really get going until he goes to work between noon and one. they go to bed around 8ish, but they've always been good about sleeping in. we usually get up between 830 and 9--which is good, since dh doesn't get home from work until almost 11 i'm up at least until 1130 every night

and as far as age--i think i'm smack in the middle, i think there are a few younger than me, and a few older. i'll be 32 in april (which seems oddly adult for me LOL)

Thanks Amy, figured I needed an avatar at some point !

I've been to the pool today but only got in a few laps, was helping a friend work on form, breathing etc.......  but I do play my 5k run today so in a bit I'll get after that ! BUT housework first !

Above freezing? Is it also sunny? How much wind? Sounds like a great day for riding if you dress properly.

I guess I wasn't very clear...I'm a 47 years old. It is about 38 degrees outside now, and sunny.

No midlife crises...just adding a little spice to life. I think it's awesome when you haven't done much or any of the three disciplines and then you train and do a triathlon, what a statement that you can do "anything" you put your mind to... Good job!

Are you doing the Vincennes Tryathlon first?
