Hours later I finally have a new flight booked.  There is a slight difference in price and location.  Anyone else want to leave Texas at 5am Saturday the 20th?.......from Dallas?  If so, pm me and I'll give you a lift, no room for a bike though

The look on my daughter's face when I limp into the church for her first communion will be worth it.

Have a great weekend of training, stay safe and healthy.

UGH! You have to rent a car, and drive to Dallas to take your flight by 5 AM AFTER doing an IM? I think you should win Father of the Year award! Glad you were able to fix the flight.

Anyone else appetite increasing? The last few days, I've been hungry every 2 hours. It's getting kind of annoying! I think I may need to start making meals in advance because I'm always either eating, cooking or cleaning! LOL

I eat like crazy as well.  The biggest problem comes during taper when you are not training high volumn, but you still feel the need to eat.

Another week in the books peeps, only 14 more of them to go, so how was this one?

For me the first half stunk due to the death cold. Finally back close to normal, still a nasty cough but feel fine. Got a nice longer trainer ride Saturday and long run Sunday but overall volume for the week was way down.

Only 14 more weeks? Where has the time gone? Training for last year went by slowly. I need to get serious about my swimming.

I was having a solid week... had one rough 1:30 swim... and then yesterday, 1 hour into a 2.5 hour trainer ride and a 30 minute run, I was done for. So I showered and took a nap. I was so tired.

I woke up from my nap, looked at how many hours I was going to miss for the week (2 hours!), and I sucked it up... got back on the trainer and then went and ran for 30 minutes.

13 hour week accomplished.

14 weeks left... 3 of those taper... only 11 weeks of REAL training left. Now's the time to dig deep and leave it all out there folks.

The event schedule and FAQ have been updated in the last few days.  They may be in the process of changing stuff on the website.  I would not worry.

Almost 17 hours for me last week, but I am SLOOOOW.  Long workouts included 3500 swim, 10 mile run, and 60 mile hilly bike (not on the same day).  I have a recovery week this week except I am running, OK run/walking, the Lost Dutchman Marathon on Sunday.  Started my training plan a week early so I could go easy this week and next.

Love the Lost Dutchman Marathon, ran it back in 05 I think. Great race and beautiful scenery. Enjoy it!

2nd straight day of nothing for me. Last week was the death cold of 2012, this week just got back from the ER. I think I slept wrong on Sunday and I can't lift my right shoulder. It has been getting progressively worse the last two days to the point I could barely sign my name with my right hand.

Get well all you crazy kids. We finally got our last shipment from Japan and our couches. I'll spend most of today like yesterday, picking stuff up and putting it down.

I lost my job yesterday.

This is why I got fired, "It is NOT a performance issue... it just isn't a good fit for the culture."

Basically the President of the company didn't like me. She went to one of my training sessions (I am a corporate trainer), she didn't like it, and decided I needed to be gone. Mind you, everyone else in the company gave me rave reviews and said it was one of the best training sessions they ever went to. She just didn't personally like me.

It's weird to get fired for that.

I guess that's how it goes, right? It's not what you know... it's who you know. There were other employees in the company who HAVE performance issues... but they weren't fired. I was doing a great job, and my boss loved me, but I got fired.

So weird.

Oh well, on a positive note... I have plenty of time to train for Ironman Texas! Three months left and nothing but TIME to train! I'll also be getting unemployment since I wasn't fired for an actual reason. So there's that too. Maybe I'll get a job before May... maybe not. Either way. It's fine.

Anyone else have any weird "I got fired" stories. Might make feel a little better for not being Ms. Popular.

Dang - really sorry to hear this. I just started a new job after time being off due to downsizing. I did take advantage of the time off to train, so enjoy it While being unemployed is not fun - due to the tough environment in the hiring sector out there - it does have some benefits, so it's nice to see you have a positive attitude. As far as the company you were with goes, it is probably good to be off of a team that is driven more by social/emotional agendas than performance and results. Their loss; your gain.

This has all the factors of a "negative into a positive" situation. The only pressure on you now should be that of kicking some a$$ at Ironman!

Sorry you lost your job! Oh that really stinks. At least your not having to worry about having to get another job right away. That would be really stressful in the middle of having to train too.

That sucks KSH.  I've been trying to get fired from this stay-at-home-Dad job but it's not working.  Keep up that positive attitude.
