After nursing the achilles so carefully, that's a major bummer to miss out with another injury. How wrecked is the bike, fixable I hope? Thanks for asking. Bike alright. Just scratched up a bit and ripped bar tape. Foot got caught in pedal/spokes, and is still sore and very bruised throught the arch and toes. Taking some time off from training to heal up and get motivation back. Right now, feeling very unmotivated. Glad to hear you are back at it. A race on the horizon? |

Member 451 Gold Coast, Australia | Subject: RE: Hashers And Mashers - Part 3 - Open Nothing concrete at this stage, perhaps a half iron distance in Feb. I was surprised at just how long it took for my motivation to come back, it's been over a month. Still, the time off is good, you need the break both physically and mentally. Good to hear your bike will live to be ridden again, and I hope your healing time goes well for you too. |

2126 Baltimore, Maryland | Subject: RE: Hashers And Mashers - Part 3 - Open Gary, I'm so sorry to hear about your foot! I hope it heals quickly and you can get back out there. Don't let it get you down! I have the Baltimore Tri tomorrow and I'm a little nervous. I feel way less prepared than I was for the last one. Due to my foot being injured during most of August I haven't trained nearly as much as I should've, and don't expect to get any PRs, but I'm trying to just go into it thinking it is another challenge and will just be fun to complete. Next year I can really train and see what I can do. That being said, I'm also unprepared b/c I still have a bunch of stuff to buy tonight (number belt and chafing cream are 2 things that come to mind, but I'm sure there's more!). I'm downloading the checklist now. I got tickets to the Os game today, so will be heading to packet pick up and shop after that. Has anyone else waited until the last minute to do this stuff before? |

413 | Subject: RE: Hashers And Mashers - Part 3 - Open It will be all good. I've been a last minute joe before. Mentally step through it all and make sure it's all planned out. Don't sweat the training gap. Enjoy and if you feel like pushing yourself do it. Otherwise stay in the moment and flow and breathe. Have a great time. |

I am totally last minute about most things in life, which is ridiculous because my job title is Manufacturing PLANNER. Or maybe it makes sense that I swing the pendulum in the opposite direction outside of work? Don't stress, we do this for fun, right? Take it easy, enjoy it, and while you can race without a number belt, I would strongly recommend ALWAYS having body glide :-P |

You are definitely not alone. Take it as a sign you are so comfortable with triathlon you can just have fun with it and not stress it.Also, there's a reason most packet pick-ups are in a bike or run shop: most people realize there's a lot of stuff they don't have the night before. |

I'm away from home for our Thanksgiving weekend so I may not be able to get internet access for a few days. |
