Cashmason - 2008-01-13 2:14 PM No bike ride this am. My 15 year old dog died this morning. Three years ago she helped me lose 100 pounds, she was always willing to go for a walk, and when I felt like running she loved that. Eventually she got too old to run, but still loved to walk. Still have a 16 year old dog, and she seems to be in good health except for a cataract, and missing a few teeth. Still lots of energy and loves to walk.

Cash, sorry to hear about your running/walking partner.  15 years is a long time!  Glad to hear your other pet is in good health.

I got me some Brooks. The mizunos I tried felt funny on my heel, and kept slipping up/down my heel, even after the store employee tried his other tying technique. I'm excited, but nervous, to get out and use 'em.

*I feel like a teenager who just got a date with the hot guy from school*

I have run in Brooks and Mizuno's and liked them both.

23.3 miles on the bike today, followed by 1 mile brick run. Then Suzie came home later and wanted to run, so 4 more miles around the park.

I started in Asics, and now run exclusively in Addidas.   I loved the asics, but they kept changing the design and then I'd have shin splints or something.  Finally tried Addidas Supernova's and haven't changed since!   I'm on like my 6th or 7th pair now....

Oh -- for Sal - the cheesecake man's benefit.  I did speedwork on my run this moring.   Got down to a 7:30 pace!  Granted it was only on 1/4 mile repeats -- but hey -- 7:30 is 7:30!

Ohhh I love magic shows.

1 hour spin 1 hour lifting, 800 yards swimming.

I still don't get the front quadrant thing. One hand wants to forward while the other goes back.

Brain says yes, body says no.

Love the story of the 2 year old dancing.

I lived in Springtown, TX for a couple of years, anywhere close to you!

Planning a run and possibly a light lift today.  Hope everyone has a great day and week of work outs!!  --Jim

He is a seriously hilarious kid.  That was just one of many stories.  I have two older kids so it's not that he's my first and I think everything he does is phenomenal... but he is a hoot!  Today he was the mayor of the DMV...

And I'm working on the magic, darn it, it was a really good post, too, I worked hard on it!!!  Stupideyhead computer...

My girlfriend is in lust with that bike too Mila. But she hasnt ridden her own bike 100 miles in the last year.

Woot under 180 pounds for the first time since college.

I get sore triceps after 2 hours or more of riding, most on the hoods. I have road bike with aero bars, but dont use the aero bars much on group rides.

Also get a sore neck when on the aerobars for more than a few miles.

Is the only answer more riding and get used to it, or can I do something at the gym that will speed up the process.

Yay!!!  That 180 has to feel good!!

Then you can buy it for me and I'll hand it down to her when she puts enough miles on her own bike and I get to decide how many miles that is, mmmm'kthanx...

Bike fit, bike fit, bike, fit, bike fit.  I really think you need to get your bike fit by someone certified (not certifiable).  Your neck shouldn't be sore and if you or someone put the aerobars on without refitting the bike, the positioning could easily be causing the sore neck and be contributing to the sore triceps.  Also, be sure your aerobars are a good match for your bike... you might want to consider shorter aerobars if yours are longer or are U shaped.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

CONGRATULATIONS --- That's Awesome!

Now if I could get back to 180 lbs, I'd be really stoked!!!  Been there before, gonna get there again, somehow!

Thanks. It's actually one of the BT random quotes(from the top of every page) *blush* But I felt like it fit right now, so I nabbed it.

I can move the aerobars in and out making them longer or shorter. The are the Profile design

Air Strykes with the pads that fold up so you can grab the handle bars for the uphills if you want.

My bike shop is not big on tri athletes so dont really fit them in the aero position. And if I fit in aero then I am out of fit for riding normally on the hoods.

Hey Utah is part of his name. It works.

Went to the tri club meeting. Did not win one of the 7 wet suits they gave away. Rats!

I was one of the 93 who didn't win. I bet the ones who did win either have one already, or don't swim. ( Many of our members only do one or two events like run and bike and join the club just for those things they dont all do tri's).
