Woot under 180 pounds for the first time since college. I get sore triceps after 2 hours or more of riding, most on the hoods. I have road bike with aero bars, but dont use the aero bars much on group rides. Also get a sore neck when on the aerobars for more than a few miles. Is the only answer more riding and get used to it, or can I do something at the gym that will speed up the process. Yay!!! That 180 has to feel good!! Then you can buy it for me and I'll hand it down to her when she puts enough miles on her own bike and I get to decide how many miles that is, mmmm'kthanx...  Bike fit, bike fit, bike, fit, bike fit. I really think you need to get your bike fit by someone certified (not certifiable). Your neck shouldn't be sore and if you or someone put the aerobars on without refitting the bike, the positioning could easily be causing the sore neck and be contributing to the sore triceps. Also, be sure your aerobars are a good match for your bike... you might want to consider shorter aerobars if yours are longer or are U shaped. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? |
