i was intending to pack beer instead.

Wise move.

i figured you'd approve.

Cheap and easy, that's me.

A pizza place 'round here had a slogan of "Cheap, Fast, Hot." i need a t-shirt.

Definitely. I know a couple people who need that shirt.

So, is an 11:44 mile pace 'easy'? I think it was too easy, actually. I think I should be running < 10:30-10:15 for most of my runs.

Depends on who you are I guess.

I don't know. Why do you think it is too easy, and why do you think you should run at those paces?

I felt like I was crawling, almost like I wasn't working at all. I think when I'm running around 10:30 its still comfortable once I warm up, and I feel like I've actually "run" at the end of the run. Whereas at the slower pace, hell, I might as well have been walking.

Depends on the day for me.  If the conditions are "normal" I try to go under 10:00 to stay in Z2.  If conditions are good (cool), I can do 8 - 9 in zone 2.  But there has been some bad days where 12-13min/miles feel rough....

Doesn't really matter as long as I'm working the old ticker.  I want to live as long as my SO - but I have a 12 year head start, and she is a cardio dynamo with all her training.  I have my work cut out for me.....

AND women live longer

AND she eats healthier

AND I stress more

AND I'm more reckless.

The cards are stacked against me.

Then over 11:30 is a good recovery pace.

Around 11 is your easy pace.

Why are you worried about the d@mned paces?  Just go out and run.

Dang. I'm flying home tonight. Funeral's tomorrow. So, you know, I bring down the `awesome weekend' average score. Sunday should be fun, though. I'm riding from my house in Omaha out by where I used to live as a kid in Iowa -- about 40 miles each way. Then going running for a couple hours.

You know - it's weird - but my training plan told me to run at an easy pace as a kind of recovery run, so I went out and took it easy, just an enjoyable run with no concern about how fast I was going or where I was at at what time.  I finished and looked at the time and I was ahead of the last time that I ran it at a "race pace".  I have no faith in my ability to tell how fast I am going and I naturally run faster when I relax and don't think so much.

How did the run feel?

How did you feel the next day, or the day after?  Did it negatively impact any other training?

If everything is fine, then I'd say you had a good run.  The whole point is to be relaxed.
