Morning Nibbs....I know I'm in the "gonna puke" mode here. How's everyone else??

    Um. Ewwwwwwww.

Not that kind of puke. The "I'm excited and terrified of my upcoming race" kind of puke.

To me, puke is puke. As long as I don't have to see it, or smell it, or hear about it, or clean it up -- then my world is a happier place.

Yea but the race anxiety kind of nausea is less likely to produce actual vomit

enders_shadow - 2008-09-05 1:23 PM OK, I lied. No freakin' way am I doing Naylors. I'll do the Du on Sunday (if all goes well) and then focus on the half-mary in November. All this swim training lost.

    Don't do Naylor's.  It's evil.

    Dee evil or bike evil?

    Probably Dee evil.

    Seriously, worst race ever.

Aaaw just saw about the VA race becoming a du thats sad.... are they sure that there is going to be bad water conditions... I mean an OWS is an OWS - a few drops of rain and stuff never hurt... Im assuming this is due to current or waves?

Either way... sadness.... just think of how GREAT you will be for next year with that extra time to prepare!

It's not the rain.  It's the fact that all the rain is going to make the river swell and increase the debris and runoff.  It can get pretty nasty after a big rain storm.

I think the roads in VA will be wet tomorrow afternoon. Call it a "hunch." :P

Yep. I'm a giver like that.

Although if you're nervous about the aero bars on wet roads during training, you might want to hold off on using them on wet roads during a race.

Or.... Can you bring both? (In other words, is there enough room in the car?) Then you can make a decision tomorrow when it's closer to race time. (But I really think the roads will be wet.)

Then again, I don't even own a "real bike," so count my opinion for the two cents it's worth.

Actually, with the price of copper these days, my opinion on this is probably worth LESS than two cents.

    Do the Du!

    Isn't that a commercial?

You know, the Mountain Dew ad, where they say, "Do the Dew."

Except that in this case, it's a Du, not a Dew.

And if I need to explain all that - then it probably doesn't matter anyway.

I probably have room.  I'm not very much faster on the tri bike as of yet, so I feel like it's a little crazy to bring both.  The road bike will be fine and that's what I'm leaning towards.

I assume we're going to do run bike run because it would just be too crazy to have us start off biking.  I wonder what the distances will be...maybe 10k/40k/5k .  That seems to be the standard duathlon runs for that length bike.

I remember when Beth was talking about the HyVee tri turning du, it was supposed to be something like a 2m/40k/10k... I think the long run has to go last, right?

I'll do whatever it is - so long as I can get to Williamsburg. It will be what it will be.

Sad, but the most important thing is that I am taper eating. Cookies for snack. Burger & fries for dinner. If I wasn't going to race, I'd have to eat better.
