Sprint_DA - 2009-01-14 4:39 PM So, I talked to one of my friends from high school yesterday on Facebook for the first time since his wedding in either '04 or '05.  I almost asked him about his wife, luckily I noticed she wasn't in any of his pictures.  Apparently that didn't last too long.

I just discovered on Facebook that my first boyfriend just got married to the girl he dated after me...they've been together since 2001.

You should have just held out a little bit longer.

Actually, I didn't sleep with him. My rationale was that we started dating the second semester of the year, and by the time a few months had passed, it was almost summer so I didn't want to sleep with him and then have him turn around and dump me when summer came. As it turns out, he dumped me...so I was smart in my decision Though he was really hot and would have been good in the sack, I bet. So now I look back and wish I'd just given it up

I didn't actually mean anything about pizza.  Good to know you would have jumped on it though.  And hot people aren't necessarily good in the sack.

He was good at other stuff...with some dudes, you can just tell. I didn't know at the time, of course, but looking back...yeah, I would have hit that...

OK - Tri talk.

My new RPE based plan has me doing a "Tempo" ride tonight at RPE 5-6.  That middle/high zone 2.  Z2 is NOT tempo, IMO.  Z3 = tempo in my book.

If the other was the case, all my training rides have been tempo.

I'm really starting to get frustrated with all the zones/names/titles.

I'm leaning towards Scouts' theory.  There is easy/moderate/hard.  Everything else is too open to interpretation.

Easy/moderate/hard makes sense.   So you're saying that the "recommended" zone for tonight is easier than you would ever go?  I would definitely just go harder.

Probably, for a tempo ride.

I could have just been wrong in the first place.  But zone 2 stuff, I can do for hours/days.  That doesn't sound like Tempo.  I figure Tempo is something just short a 10k pace - so pretty hard, and can't be held for more than 45-60 minutes, I'm thinking.

I guess to be clear, I'm happy with the RPE and HR relationship, they are about spot on.  But in this case, calling it a 'tempo' bike and then say it's Z2 and/or RPE 5-6 is not right.  If they said RPE 7 or Z3 for tempo, I wouldn't be complaining.

So do I do a 'tempo' ride or Z2/RPE6?  Knowing the 'intention' of the plan, I'm thinking tempo.
