Added another 3.1 today as part of a Triathlon  So twas a  3.1 miles  Brick run that hurt  . With a hard sprint finish to take someone 30 yds ahead of me in the last 100 meters .   No idea where i placed yet as results are not up yet . But looking at the runners on the out and back course about middle of the pack.

WAHOO!!!  MIP is a good place (well, at least for someone like me )

Happy Monday all!

Got a 4 mile run in at lunch today. This brings me to 36.37 of 52 miles so far this month or 69.9% done. Have a good one.

a lunchtime workout???  now there's a concept I should try... but that would imply taking a lunch break, correct?

NICE JOB

geauxtri - 2009-10-19 7:27 PM So my goal is based on 15 minute "trainer/elliptical" sessions...  however, the equipment is at werk
& I seem to be spending all day at my desk and "running" out of the building at the end of the day...

Question:  Would it be fair to substitute a 30 minute walk... it's twice the amount of time to make up for the lost calories.

AND... after just completing a 30 minute walk, I've found out it's just as therapeutic for my knee

What do y'all think?  Perhaps I should copy this post to the October thread so those from other teams can weigh in?

I think it would be fair, but if in doubt, ask Dee!

MILA! Sal needs to do more hill repeats on the treadmill. (Make him puke next time.)

Yes, you may substitute a 30 min walk for the trainer/elliptical sessions.

The knee is fairing okay.. I'm a little worried about it, there's LOTS of crunching going on in there... even just shifting my weight while standing around it will crunch... I go back to the doc on Wednesday morning...

I had to concentrate this afternoon to hold my posture well, so as to not allow myself to limp.

I've found that my foam roller does wonders for my IT band & my periformis (okay, so a lacrosse ball is really better for that muscle), without it on a regular basis, and I'm in pain

At PT today, after I had done all my exercises and was getting ready for my ultrasound, etc, I asked my therapist when I could try running; her response was "want to try now?" Of course, I said yes, so we headed over to the treadmill (Woodway) where I did 30sec walk/30sec run x4. My heel felt OK right after but I said we'd have to see how it feels later, after the ice wears off and I've been on it for a while. I definitely have some ache there, around a 2-3 out of 10; now I have to see how long that lasts. I don't yet know if this should be considered a success or a failure.

Added another run this morning followed by a quick swim to cool down , (in lieu of an ice bath) .  Now at 66% complete for the month.    I used to do this a few years ago ,  Track speedwork at SMC followed by 20 mins in the SMC pool .  They were right besides each other.

Crypt Keepers are getting flushed down the toilet by the Ghoulies!

GO GHOULIES (I am their team cheerleader now that I am sidelined - so it is my duty to rile up the competition)  You know you can't catch us on post count padding and the end of the month will bring the same demise to your team.

But that said - keep it running keepers - your weight loss will make toilet flushing that much easier!

I see a few ghoulies are actually reading the  posts on their thread ..   That   is a challenge in itself .

Just a bit over 10 miles today according to my Garmin. I think it was off and I ran closer to 10.3 or so, and I will use my wife's newer Garmin the next time I do that route to verify. Anyway the run today puts me over 200 miles for the month and I only have about 50 more to go to make my goal. With 10 days left in the month I'm feeling pretty good about making it.
