rnihill - 2011-01-16 11:59 PM Well, after a crazy week of hospital visits and bloodwork, I'm trying to get back on track this week!  Sadly, I didn't eat as well or drink as much water as I should have...  This week should be better.  The only day I get excuses for is Thursday - we have to go back to the doc to check on my dd's bloodwork and it's my birthday!!!  I'll say right now, that it will NOT be a junk food free day!!  Laughing

so glad your little piglette is okay

Jorge's week 1 session 4 .......I just spent 2 hours and 18 minutes on my trainer.  My legs begged for mercy so I had to cool down a few minutes early.  Killer workout.

RedSoxChick - 2011-01-15 4:53 PM hi team,
disasterous week due to getting laid off
on the bright side it leaves me more time to read the 10 pages of posts i've missed, lol

My challenge begins next week to really focus on ME and Training and Nutrition ~ I need to turn 2011 around QUICK!
Laughing

Oh, sorry to hear ~ that stinks...

KOM - 2011-01-15 7:58 PM good evening all!

I can't believe week 2 is coming to a close! I totally failed on water today.  Funny how I can drink much more consistently while at work.  It also explains why my Saturday night Cosmo is hitting me like a ton of bricks. (lots of typos to correct. lol).

Thanks to this challenge I am mostly on track with the nutrition.  Thank you all for that.

IT's helping me too! There's still room for improvement in the eating part but I am being more selective about what I eat. mostly.

Yes, that an an increased awareness of portion size.....eyeballing a "cup" of yogurt and a measured cup are entirely different measures!

Well i had every intention of getting a bike ride in today but then last night I finished up all my Grad school applications and decided I deserved a treat in the form of rum and coke.... so I'm a little sluggish today but now I've gotten James to agree to going to the gym with me on Mondays and Fridays for strength training so that'll start tomorrow when my head no longer hurts.

I went to the gym mostly to weigh in and use the hot tub.  (-1.5 lbs this week!!)

Swam enough to say I swam.  I was too hungry to want to do much and have decided my new approach to swim is do how much I feel like that day with no plan.

Cooked a pot roast tonight with carrots, celery, and onions.  Made smashed potatoes with peas.  And to top it all off, roasted a medley of vegetables with olive oil, cracked pepper, and a little salt.  Mmmmm good.

Didn't do as well in Week 2 as I did the first week from inconsistent water intake and falling off the wagon on junk once or twice.  On the bright side, I've maintained activity levels, so I'm really pleased overall.  Besides, there's always Week 3 to redeem myself!

On to Week 3!

So am I these days, but I gotta keep working on the fat that attached itself to my keester.  My training volume is too low for the run to really burn weight so I HAVE to really watch the diet and suffer with hunger pains.

Actually, I have come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter how much I eat, I am still hungry! I would like to drop another 3kg over the next 6 weeks or so, so I really should start cutting out my treats

This week was down on the previous week for me, due to not getting as much exercise done.

No excuses this week, electricity just got connected to the new shed which means power for the treadmill now, rejoined BT and now have a programme to work to, and about to get a new HR.  Really happy to be able to train again now.

If only I can score an interview for a new job this week as well it could be perfect, but let's not ask for too much.

Hey everyone! Sorry I have been MIA. It  has been a rough week here. MIL was in the hospital for almost a week with a severe lung infection, she is now at home but needs oxygen 24/7. Hubby had surgery for a torn labrum in his shoulder and is home resting and I am beat from being a good nurse! I did get some workouts in and was good with fruits and veggies but not so good with snacking. This is my last week off before going back to school…I am happy to say I made the athletic training program! This is good/bad news for me…means I get a locker to use so no more excuses about not having my “stuff” at school but also means more hours in the ATR and not as much time to train. here is my quick catch up on everything..sorry if I missed anything/one. I also need to update the spreadsheet.

Rhoda happy to hear your daughter is on the mend!

Thanks to this challenge I am mostly on track with the nutrition.  Yep this is for me too…making me more aware of what/how much I am eating!
i couldn't agree more....it has been motivational fun so far. plus i think i am eating better and definitely drinking more water and less beer so far this month. I'm definitely doing more that I had been!

Rachel bummer about the bike crash.  Hope the road rash is healing! Please stay safe with all the flooding.

MrGraves sounds like you are enjoying the lovely winter…wish I could like it more but I still vote for moving in with yanti!

Feeling less and less love for the swim every time I go. I hear ya! I had to write down all my times for my “coach” from my races so she know where I am. My swim is the one place I have not improved…some I even gained time

If I start pooping a bunch of small hard round doots, I'm gonna call for emergency shipments of Pop Tarts. Heheheehe!

Bill…at least you had a great time! Good job getting in the pool

Lisa....I'm sorry about you getting laid off. Maybe this is to open up better opportunities for you! you know when one door closes another one opens...

Yes, that an an increased awareness of portion size.....eyeballing a "cup" of yogurt and a measured cup are entirely different measures! THIS! Sounds like we have the same “eyes!”

ok going to update the spreadsheet now!

mbasta - 2011-01-14 11:25 PM I'm pleased to announce that I was tempted by mixed frozen berries to make a smoothie.

However, I was tempted by a bag of Dorito's to have a snack when I am done.

oooh ooh ooh tell us which temptation wins ... or both!

'cause you know, one healthy / one junk = neutral. they cancel each other out of course!

Well, I plan on playing Rachet and Clank while eating Dorito's in about 10 minutes.

That sounds like a wonderful way to spend a Friday afternoon. Would it be rude if I invited myself to join you? I'll bring the Doritos.

what flavour?

Today I had sweet chili heat, but my favorite is habanero.

You're making me hungry. Love those flavors.
