I'm heading over fron North Carolina next weekend to do the Cardinal Harbor HIM. A good change of pace after doing long rides/runs every weekend. Get the batteries recharged for the last push and get to see part of the bike course. Should be a good time.

June totals:

Swim: 27,650 yds

Bike: 446 mi

Run: 78 mi

Compared to 2010, a little light on the run, but I'm ok with that, the knee is a happier beast.

Not bad since I had a taper week for my HIM and a recovery week after. I'll take it. But now everything is starting to build.

June's totals:
Bike:27h 51m  - 475.81 Mi
Run:11h 40m 30s  - 65.99 Mi
Swim:11h 27m  - 33200 M
Equestrian:5h 35m
Yard Work:2h 00m

Wish I could go to the July 21st ride! alas, those were a painful 20 hours on the road.

June's totals:
Bike: 34h 23m 22s - 677.39 Mi
Run: 14h 52m 11s - 119.41 Mi
Swim: 8h 28m 34s - 26950.48 Yd

I'm pretty happy especially with bike numbers. That is my weak spot!

jillkimberlin - 2012-07-08 7:31 PM What time does the group meet on Monday nights?

There is a group meeting tonight at Tumbleweed at 6:30.  Out and back is about 700M each way and we will stay behind Towhead Island.  There should be at least 1 or 2 kayaks there as well.

http://www.facebook.com/groups/97377075250/

Look for a post referring to "Mudstache Monday" for details and status.  I am heading down early to run first and will join you for the swim after my run.

Rode part of the loop of IMKY course on the computrainer this morning and Holly Molly I was a shifting fool. I am going to take it easy on the first loop  so I do not burn out on the second with all those annoying little 10% to 12% that catch you.

Livestrong,

I did a 100 miler this past Saturday from Wilmington to Wrightsville Beach to Hampstead and back.  Did very little shifting.  I didn't even go into my small chain ring once.......

Training for Louisville, I'm glad I live in the Pinehurst area so I've got some hills....

Take Care

ha ha! you are sweet, I feel behind!  I came home from my trip to Louisville to that terrible east coast storm in DC.  Fortunately I had two others helping me or it would have been 6 hours of yardwork picking up all the branches.

This concerns me. I have a peanut allergy and 2/3's of the bars that they are serving are peanut butter. I guess I have to bring my own.

Sorry to hear the storm caused your yard work, I trust it's safe to assume your family and friends escaped without injury? Here in Ohio we still have homes without power!  What a terrible storm.

If anyone out there is like me and feeling the normal aches and pains for anyone working as hard as we are to achieve a goal...listen to your body and make smart adjustments to your plans, get as much rest as possible and hydrate. A normal August day in LV will suck the life right out of you.

I just heard about the Cardinal Harbor Half being moved.  I feel bad for those folks registered hoping to get a preview of the IM Louisville course.  Just a reminder that the I Am Tri training weekends are pretty awesome!!!!!!!!

Weren't the previous Powerbars peanut butter flavor as well? Just curious.
I'm probably in the minority but the fact that they are gluten free and dairy free tickles me to no end. Sorry about the peanut thing

Yes... Could not eat those either.

I did email IM and they responded with this:

Thank you for your email and patience as I looked into your inquiry. Bonk Breaker bars are handed out wrapped, so you should have no issue figuring out what you are being provided; however, please note that each aid station may vary in what is given out. The bars are not necessarily divided up equally, one aid station may have three different flavors and the next may only provide one flavor; so please be sure to plan accordingly.

For anyone that is new doing this race you may want to rent track my athlete for the weekend. I used it in 2010 and my family thought it was great. They were able to find me all over the course.

The only issue we had was as one point it stated that I had went 1 mile in 1 hour on the run. So they freaked out a little at that point. haha.

Thanks for the reminder on the tracker! I used one for IMFL and it was perfect since my parents weren't about to make it to Panama City, but this allowed them to at least know when to get to a computer to watch me cross the finish line!

I ended up getting a Garmin GTU 10. It cost a little more but its mine to keep and use as many times as I like. I use it a lot on long training rides and runs. Its smaller and has a back up AT&T 3G network so if satellite reception is bad (like in the case you mentioned above) it still works.

Great idea for the GTU10!!!  I have one from work and never thought of taking it with me.  I must say that will be pretty cool.
