I am fairly sure my son says this on a regular basis. tell him to call me, i will tell him about my mom, and he will run and kiss your da*n feet. I may need to take you up on this, though I don't know how much good it will do. He is after all 16 and I am by necessity a huge embarrassment! You are way cooler when you are the Aunt!

It's frustrating, especially for me having my big race in July this year-- a little less time in warm months to train than years past. And yours is a full, correct? More power to ya, girl!
I toyed with the idea of coming to your neck of the woods for IMKS, but the timing just doesn't work. I've got too many events between now and then to really build well. Ya Vineman - I might be more excited about the week afterwards of wine tasting I might not do IMKS for the first time... ever (I've done it every year they've held it!). Sad face. But $250 entry fee is just not appealing to me right now. Oh yes. No hill of death now. You still ride past the "Iron Cross" but you go straight (and later left) instead of right down that crazy hill. And the start/run course is on the other side of the lake. I still might do it. It's built into my training plan right now, but I just don't wanna part with the money yet. |

What's the course generally like? Mostly flat-ish? I was considering it because it's going to be Hines Ward's first HIM; just thought that it'd be cool to be there for that. If I do a mid-summer HIM, it's between this and Syracuse, but Syracuse is going to be stupid hilly. |

I love downhills like that
Some of those climbs look like they'd hurt, but I think it's got to better than Syracuse. Upstate New York is crazy hilly.

Yeah imagine my surprise when I drove in on the course that first year. I nearly poo-pood in my panties. Needless to say it wasn't a fun ride. Then that stupid thunderstorm rolled in and they cut the race short for people who hadn't finished. Oh what a day that was. |

That'd have surprised the heck outta me, too! I always imagined Kansas to be extremely flat; I'd never have guessed that it'd be that hilly. |
