THANKFUCKINGODIT'SFRIDAY!!!!

I wore wellies this morning to work as it was raining all night and the weather people that live in my phone said that it was going to be thunderstorming all day, so packed "regular" shoes in my bag to wear once I got to work and I'm now wearing my pink rubber gym flip flops as I grabbed 2 completely different shoes.

I'm going to get more coffee.

Well at least the weekend is in sight!

Do you know how much better I feel knowing that others do this Yes, thankfuckinggod indeed.

Ha!  You just made my day realizing that I'm not alone in being a dunderhead some days.  Even worse is they're not even close... one's a gold wedge sandal and one is a black flat.  How did I DO that???

Well, as long as you didn't grab both left or both right . . . Wink

I once had to snowboard with two left boots.

When I was a prosecutor I used to wear my running shoes at work. I kept my "real" shoes in my office and only wore them when I was in court. One day when I went to change because I was headed to court, I couldn't find any of the rights to any pair! All lefties. Some of the agents came into my office when I was out and hid all the rights. I went to court in running shoes. As the judge was aware of my sneaker wearing ways, he just laughed. Thank goodness I was only in court for a hearing and not a trial, so there was no jury. I finally found the shoes hidden in a file drawer.

not to long ago I went to work wearing different shoes. One black, one ox blood. At least they were similar styles.

Here Mon, this might make you feel better.

This morning I was trying to decide what to wear, and grabbed a skirt from the dryer.  When I took the skirt out it was pretty wrinkled, and I went to shake/snap it out to see how bad the wrinkles were as Mama doesn't iron.  Well, I was, um, naked, and gave the skirt a firm snap and the drawstring--yep, SNAP!--right there.

FACH ME THAT HURT!

Any stories involving nudity must not end in pain. Carry on!

Ugh! It can only be Friday, right? Mak, my toddler, let the dogs out and was standing up on the kitchen island tossing them treats when I woke up this morning. Later T, 6 y/o, cried because I wouldn't teach him how to knit before noon. Then Mak got my pink nail polish and spilled on Js side of closet when I walked in and startled her. At least I caught my coffee mistake before it was too late...almost made decaf.

Had a swim at a different pool last night - went straight from work - it was hailing and freezing but I stuck with the waiting for the tram and the short walk to get there.

What a glorious pool - must be a hundred years old - i'll take pics next time.  30m in length and four lanes - everyone circle swimming politely.

Was hard to do my main sets of 200m ended up doing 6x 210 then 2 x 180!

All up 2520m and i loved it.

This morning - sunny but dang it's cold.  I have another Coach piglet Mark session this morning in Albert Park - then I'm gonna run laps of the lake - it's a 5km circuit so three laps today for my long slow run.

I like running the park - plenty of toilets, swans to look at and so many friendly runners.  Last time I ran there was an official half marathon and I was fat.

Back to that diet business which is a lifestyle not a diet...

I've been writing my food down - and notice that when bored I reach for the snacks - usually nuts (no problem unless running never trust a fart!)

If you are thinking VEGAN ( i can't give up bacon) then check out Rich Roll's website and podcast.  He has a book Finding Ultra with a lot of info too.

Enjoy the weekend folks.

Awesome swim, Jo. The pool sounds fantastic.

Speaking of swimming, I swam 6050 yards this week. I spent more time swimming this week than running or biking, even considering my planned workouts for tomorrow. That's just amazing for me.

Carry on.

Have your kiddos calmed down a bit now by the end of the day? Or, at least, did you, with adequate caffeine infusion?

I'm probably not going to train today. I haz a sore froat and I just can't take any chances on making anything worse right now.

NOOOOOO! You aren't allowed to take chances...with your health at least. Go ahead with the crazy wardrobe. Tongue out

NOW they're in bed. If I could've had an IV drip, I probably would have gotten over my fear of needles for it. Instead, I drank a pot of coffee over the course of the morning.  And after starting my day with pic #1 happening, I'm ending it with pic #2  Laughing

Update from me...

As previously mentioned the pool was great as was the swim.

Saturday morning up early for Coach Piglet Mark - off to Albert Park Lake for a bike lesson.  If you follow Formula 1 GP this is where the Australian Grand Prix is held.

Anyway I digress - not nearly so nervous, I just jumped on the bike clipped in - he talks me through the stopping process, I do it - success.  No wobbles at all - we did it for an hour.  Stopping and starting - really focussing on stopping at faster speeds so he'd have me riding at 25kph then shout stop and I slam on the brakes and stop.

Then he says - you don't like riding downhill do you?  And he said it's because I fear I have no ability to stop.  So he takes me to a part of the park where there's an underpass - actually a bit wet down the bottom from all the rain.  He says Jo we're going to ride down halfway and bring the bike to a stop.  Freaking out!  But guess what I did it.  Yeah not that graceful but he said, you are in complete control.

End of lesson - Jo - I don't want to hear from you again, do not leave it three months, get out on that bike, bring it to the park if you have to and ride it like you stole it.

I love mark.

After that I put the bike in the car and decided my long run could happen in the park - 3 laps of the lake is 15km.  I haven't run there since an official half marathon 3 years ago.  Forgotten what a nice flat run it is.  Enjoyable.  Did the 3 laps and could easily have done a couple more.  Might well use this as my long run venue when I want something with no hills!

Manatees - I'm smiling.

Pure. Faching. Win.

Strong work Jo.

Sometimes I think the biggest rate limiting step in this sport is just doing the thing were scared of, whatever the reason may be that we're scared. I've tried to be better about identifying those things, and addressing them so they don't take my energy with  worry or anxiety.  It's not always easy, but it always seems to be better when working on it.

I like your boy, Mark.  Now we're all gonna ride your azz about gettin out there on the bike.  Hugs on your big day:)

This is kinda directed to Yanti and Jo, but only cause they're in the right neck-o-the-woods.

Do you guys know anyone who rides Bouwmeester wheels?  Any feedback?

I've missed competing.  I've still been training but not to the level that I would  have liked.    That has changed this last week.    I'm riding daily and alternating days of running and swimming.      Might cut down on the swimming as I've been doing that all summer.   Summer's almost over and might as well collect my books and get on back to school.

Signed up for the Elk River Valley 100 that will be on Sept. 7th.     Weather should be most tolerable.

Shark week starts today.   I'm in Heaven.       To our Australian friends, how do you cope?      Cool  I have a few shark tales for my diving and surfing days.    Nothing like on TV, though.

I love sharks! I have no interesting shark tales--just a lot of sightings of different kinds during swimming.

So, okay, not an Aussie, but ... I think they'd adopt me as an honorary one. Same hemisphere, small dividing sea.

Indonesia is a major shark-products exporting nation. This makes me very sad.

Have a wonderful time at the bike race (that IS 100 on a bike ... right?) and with back to school.

That's correct.     Cool   Just yesterday I changed out my rear cassette to an 11-30 from an 11-25 to  help with the hills.  Middle Tennessee has more than a few hills to deal with.

Non Sequitur....   I'm gob-smacked at your body morphing.     Surprised Laughing      Well done, my best beloved.

P.S.    I've never eaten shark, though I love seafood.   Amberjack, grouper, Mahi Mahi, lobster, crab, etc....
