Okay hold up Tony.  I just pulled up your training log and saw the Saunier Duval jersey!!!!   What's up with your boys???

Yeah I am on team SD for the TdF challenge.  It really sucks I normally root for americans and not much else, but this year because of the challenge I was following SD and rooting for all their guys..  Now I am not sure who I am rooting for.

I'm on Rabobank and could care less how they perform in the Tour.  Besides Menchov, I can't name another guy on the team.  Our BT team is lacking too, only a few of us ever even post in the team thread.

Yeah but it is fun to root for the team.

Most of our group is pretty solid, though now it is real hard for me to trash talk when our team isn't even in the TdF anymore.

Just a nice diversion for training, gives you something else to think about.

Great race report Steve. Amazed the run went so well for you considering te chest issues. When is the Ironman Canada? I know where it is as I was raised in ALberta and have benn to the Kelowna area many times.

Thanks! It's early enough that it doesn't quite seem real yet, but at the same time we're very excited.  Guess I better get a few more races in now while I can

Bah slight double lat pull a couple days ago waterskiing. Not the best timing. I took a few days off see how it feels today on my swim/bike brick.

Question: Where do you put the timing chip for the swim portion of the Tri... swimsuit/trishort string or what? My last/1st tri did not have timing chips.

It would normally go around your ankle. I put it under my wetsuit so that it would not be pulled off in transition. Take care of that muscle pull.

If you don't have your own time chip band, the race organizers should provide a medical tie or zip tie that will strap around your ankle and through the timing chip.

You have quite an effect on the team Tracy. The thread was pretty quiet when you were gone. Great to have you back.

Alright so I have to TOOT my wife's horn... She rocks... This weekend she did the Oly Race at the same times as my race, and we got this picture of her.....  She finished 11th female overall and top 50 out of 300++ people... But I like this picture because she is surrounded by men.... The best part is the men.... THEY STARTED 10 minutes BEFORE THE WOMEN!!!!  THE 3 famous words my wife has mastered.... "ON YOUR LEFT!!!!"

WHAT CAN WE SAY, WOMEN ROCK!!!!!!!!!! Not only is she passing men, but she is passing them UP HILL!!!!!

Thanks for the kind words Rob.  To be honest, I HATE my current job and you guys are a great excuse not to work.  If I ever get back to teaching my life will be very different.  I keep telling my husband he needs to hurry up and be a sugar daddy so I can quit and train for an IronMan.  I bought him this great T-shirt for Father's Day that says, "I DON'T DO TRIATHLONS, I DO A TRIATHLETE"  Even though he does race, he is dying to wear that shirt to a race.

BUT THE REAL QUESTION IS, DOES THE BT TEAM PROVIDE THE EPO??  Maybe that is why you are having such great success with your running!

Anybody seen one along the lines of a triathlete in the oven/womb or something for my wife?   I don't think she'd wear this one, at least not outside the house - she was (is - not going back till the kids are in school) a Catholic School teacher and we see parents/kids on nearly every outing.

Tracy, I feel you on the job front.  It's not that I hate my job, I'm just really bored - not that BT isn't entertaining, but all day?????  So I'm currently on the hunt - though living in a fairly small (~70K), retirement friently town the options are pretty few.

3/4 mile swim, 22 mile bike brick went ok. I was able to swim my usual pace (slow but functional 8) (2 min 6 sec/ 100).

Lats are more of a slight annoyance than a hinderance. I get a bit more uncomfortable in the aro position on the bike and can feel it a bit after the brick, but not too bad. Day off tomorrow. Thanks info about ankle thingy I won't sweat it, there are expecting 1000 people for the Oly and I imagine they have it covered.

Oh and btw, I found that my neck is less flexible to the left than to the right for whatever reason and that may contribute to why I have more trouble breathing on the left side during freestyle. My thought is that if I stretch my neck that way over time I won't have to compensate the stroke by rotating that extra 10 degress or whatever to get a breath on that side.

You should just go to one of the stores/shops that does up t-shirts and have one made with whatever you want ot put on it. You could probably find somewhere on the web which does that kind of thing.

and they have all kinds of great stuff for triathletes.  Here is a possible shirt along the lines you were talking about.  By the way, I used to teach at a catholic high school.  Small world

Thanks for the link Tracy.  I left one about Tri being an obsession up on the computer for my wife.  She's convince all I think about is tri stuff, so she got a kick out it.

Wow, someone must of overheard that I was bored yesterday, because today is nothing but urgent issues.

Not much planned for the weekend, not racing again until 8/16.  I need to get some miles in for the TdF challenge, so there might be a 30 miler in store for me Saturday morning.

I think I will set up the trainer and pretend I am climbing Alp de D'Huez with the boys tonight.  Or maybe I'll grab a beer and be a Podium Girl instead.
