I needed some clothes for work so I forced myself to go to the mall tonight since it was rainy and crappy anyway. So I got a few things and I was going to another store, riding down the escalator. I look toward the bottom and see 2 girls standing there, the one with her back toward me looks really good. Brunette, thin, good height, dressed well, great looking body. Dang. Then something kinda struck me funny... something was familiar about her, the way she moved, and used her hands to talk, and the way she was standing. As I reached the bottom of the escalator it hit me. It was my ex. Sunnuvabitch. She was still looking the other way, but was maybe 8-10 feet away. The other girl and I make eye contact, but I don't know her. I turned and walked the other direction casually and didn't see her anymore. I don't think she ever saw me. You OK??? My stomach would drop to my feet and my head would spin when that would happen to me... Just remember.. they are an EX for a reason.. Yeah, I'm fine. It was just that split second of panic. I'm glad I was able to avoid the awkward "Hi, how are you?". I've talked to her several times recently, actually... but everytime she asks me that, I feel like answering "Actually, I'm great. I finally got over you ripping my heart out." Heh, that's probably not a good idea, though... I'm SOOOO hoping that the other girl told her to look at the cute guy walking away. She probably said something more like "Look at that dbag walking away, he was really staring at you and then he just turned away...lets get out of here before he comes back." |

Another reason why I qualify for the "I just don't get it group" Don't quite understand the melodrama involved when seeing an ex. Mind you it's been 27+ years since I've been in that situation but what I do remember when it occurred is...you saw, you acknowledged, (sometimes stopped and chatted) and then continued on. No drama. Unless you're talking about the next day or two then yes that can be a little emotional. |
