It's ugly, about the size of a nickel.  Hurts too. (playing up for sympathy here)  It's going to be a long month building for that half!

Luckily I haven't developed any blisters from training-although I haven't put in any long runs.  My only recent blisters are from digging big holes(to move a tree).

I saw those in the store.  I'll have to try a pair.  I may have a running sock problem.

My 20 mile run ended up being 18.6.    I got run off the road and rolled my ankle on the edge of the road (like the concrete piece that comes up on most roads).  I stopped early because I didn't want it to get worse.  It's ok now, but I'm a little annoyed that I didn't finish.

Also worried about beating the cutoff time for the marathon itself.  It says 19 miles with 14:00 pace.  But, the race starts at 8:00 and the cutoff is 1:45.  That works out to way more that 14 min/mile.  Even if I don't get to the line until 8:45 I'd have 5 hours and that's more than their pace, too.  It's confusing.

Deep Run high school is having a marching band contest. I ran a couple loops around the school as part of my long run because I was enjoying the tunes!

Sorry to hear about the ankle, Jen, and the blister, Judi! Heal up!

Ouch on rolling the ankle.  Probably wise to not force the last little bit.

Oh, no! I am so sorry about your ankle. Rest, ice ... it should be good if you stay off it a bit. I hate that! and it always happens towards nearly the end of a long run.

MCM is strange 'cause they bus you back to a certain point on the course if you don't make the 19-mile cutoff. I dunno. But I have had some CRAZY SLOW friends do it and nobody had to get bussed. You should be good to go.

Yay Judi! Yay Yanti! Big melon presses all around!

It's true. I am always a Nibblet first. Even if I have not been able to be around as much as I'd like.

Judi, I cannot thank you enough for being there for me each and every day. Boy, I'm tearing up writing that. You are my hero.

And the Nibbs have been just amazing in supporting me and making sure I had some light during the darkest times. THANK YOU.

I think they're off on their times.  I looked at the street closures and where the bridge is and I think it's between 14:30 and 15:00 this year for the cutoff.  I can totally do that.

My ankle wasn't really bad, I just didn't want to take any chances this close to the race.  I iced it and it feels a lot better now.  I don't have to run until Tuesday, so I should be ok.

Yeah, that's what I mean. They probably post 14:00 'cause it's the whole-number-up cutoff and they REALLY want to make sure people are prepared, or mentally prepared to get bussed.

May I say again that you ARE awesome and you're GONNA BE awesome in this race.

I really appreciate that.  I've been getting really nervous about it.  My goals is mostly to finish and then worry about time.  I think I can probably do it in 6 hours or less, but I don't care about that so much.
