That's right, still single ladies!

Embrace it!  You are independently owned and operated!

The independently owned thing is fine...

the independently operated thing is meh though

I'm a girl .. being independently operated is guaranteed to be 100% satisfying.

Beat me to it. I was just about to say that, too.

Isn't that kind of the point? Laughing

I'd complain if I had a date to complain about .. but since I've not had ANY dates .. I can't complain.  Although today I was feeling quite confident at crossfit today and flirted (well, I thought it was flirting) with the cute fire-boy.  We did our squats together .. observed each others form and such .. I enjoy his form very much and while he stays very "encouraging" and helpful I just become all tongue tied and stupid and he just smiles.  I gotta work on that.

Just ask him to spot you...works every time!

I went out with an old training partner (like ten years ago). Interesting story. He got introduced to my friend who at times was a bit psychology. They went out 3 weeks and got engaged. When she called to gush, I said, "are you sure this is a good idea? Please have a long engagement!" Then she wouldn't talk to me or "let" him talk to me. He reconnects with the tri club and I chat with him but never get the real story till now. They made it 3 years and she had "lots of issues and was always jealous of me." Interesting. Not sure where it's going as he's a bit boring, but I'm giving him another chance. And yes I do love that I was right.

Mmmhmmm. And that would have worked on you? At least he said "like me" ....right? Lol.

Ok, I was completely reaching for a quip there

It wouldn't have to work on me, while I wouldn't be opposed at all to the 25-32 age range for some fun, I'm close to 42 and not looking in that age bracket for anything serious

Ok, I usually don't share all that much here, cause different strokes for different folks.....and I realize that everyone is not going to be best date/match ever but this one is worth a mention.

Met on a professional site, not all that different than any other site but I have found (with heavy weeding out) a few very nice, professional, educated men here.  One guy whom I dated for over a year and some which have become good friends or business connections.

First of all, this was the first time I did not reconize the guy from his pictures, yes he was a tad bit rough, and much older than I had expected.....but I try to get something postitive out of every meeting and learn something.  Met at a nicer place for Thai food, I was dress in business apparel, he was dressed in avg street clothes, and gym shoes.....I was still ok.  Then I went to greet him at the table and he stood (very nice) but then when I went to sit, he said stand up again and let me take a good look at you and said I was a nice size. WTF?!?  I sat quickly and thought oh crap this is going to be a long one.

Then he said takes a good look at ME and said "Do you reconize me?"  Again I am worried and puzzled, he reached for his phone.  He then shows me a video from the 80's (I was like 5) and there he was in a bud light commericial, very well kept and athletic looking, just like his pictures. I am now worried this guy does not realize that it is 20 years later? At this point I am ready for the date to be over, but we have not ordered yet.  So I flag the waitress skip drinks and go right to ordering. He said wow, you must be hungry.  I shook my head politely and said I had not eaten all day.

The conversation was a tad bit ackward and painful, but I can make it for another hour or so.....right.

I ask him what was the last vacation he was on and he miss heard me and answered what medications he was on........scary again!!!

By the time dinner came I took a couple of bites and was ready for the check.  I signaled to the waitress again and the check arrived.  I was done, so the waitress asked if I wanted my left overs to go, I said 'no".  The date was quick to respond and said, "I will take her left over", pack them up to go!  REALLY!?!

So with the check still on the table he started telling me how athletic he is and how people still reconize him....blah blah blah.  At this point I say it was pleasure to meet him and I don't see this working in the future.  Put money towards the bill and excused myself.
