Everything about MTBing is expensive comparied to road.

It was sort of a wash for me.

Hogwash. I know a few guys who have gotten ridiculous with their roadies.

Also, you need to become better friends with your wheel guy. Mine charges me $20 to lace if I get the materials. I'm salvaging my XTR hubs from "n-1" to put on the 29er.

It seems very important to keep ones sac intact through the whole process...

This guy will attest to that! (and btw, snopes has certified this tale's truth)

Of COURSE there are guys who can spend a TON on road bikes.  I never said you COULD'T spend more on a road bike.  I could by the Pinnerelo Frame with the Dura Ace DI shifters and Zip wheels and spend 20k...

I just think that straight accross the board, MTB stuff costs more.  29er tires cost more.  A mid level road bike cost less than a mid level MTB.  Granted much of that is due to the suspension.  Components cost a fraction more.  Brakes cost more...

So do you still think it's "hogwash" that in general, comaparing same level stuff, that MTB stuff isn't slightly more expensive?

Hell, I spent the same amount on my mid level Full suspension 29er than my race ready Cervelo P3....

Meeting went well. It was about an intern program. All I kept thinking was...there's probably going to be bad jokes made about the program.....and then I'll defend an EEOC charge at somepoint. Oh well.....that keeps me employed.

Lunch was at Saltgrass Steakhouse. Had brisket tacos, rice, salsa, 1/3 of an avacado, a few pieces of bread and butter, and 4 diet cokes......

I gotsta pee lots now.....

I think it has to do with temperature... colder sacs are tighter... hotter sacs are looser...
