So this weekend I am taking part in the Spartan Beast in Beautiful Monterey....and then I am going caving/spelunking the next day...cause I am a little bit crazy.  Super exciting though! A friend has set up the trip to help raise money for cancer research, e provides the gear (and expertise) and I pay $25 and play in a cave; simple, right? Oh, apparently there is some 400 foot rappelling involved plus a big ol' swimmin' hole involved...so, climbing, rappelling, swimming...fun! (I hope!)

Then mid-March he arrives here.

After my race on Sunday we went to Seven Falls in Colorado Springs. We haven't been there since our boys were small and DH wanted to go in May but it was too rainy/cold. If you look closely at the picture of all 7 falls you will see a staircase going up the height of the falls. There are 224 steps there and another 185 steps to get to the "Nest" from whence I took the picture. Between the tri and the 309 stairs (up and down) I think I earned the dinner we had at our favorite German restaurant.

I tried to take y'all's advice about doing something DH wants to do after my race. I'm also going to give serious thought before signing up for any travel races next year...

For ME, I wouldn't mind giving them a whirl because after 2 reconstructive knee surgeries, breaking my back twice, having spondololisthesis and sciatica... I'm not so sure that my pain while running (or doing anything, really) is a result of poor mechanics.  As many have said, what works for one person won't work for others - but if I can find a way to actually do something pain-free, I'm willing to give it a whirl!
