I hit 1000 KM tonight (623 miles).  With 1 month to go, I am going to aim for 700 miles for the year.  I have already surpassed last year by 140km, so at this point, everything is gravy.  I am pretty sure this is my biggest year ever, I got  close to 1000km in 2010, but not since.  So yay!

I should hit 1000 miles this Sunday if I mange to get my planned runs in. If not, I'll hit it next week.

Like Bill said, it's about time to start thinking about 2014 goals. I missed cycling this year so I may back off the running and get back to cycling. Oh, I miss swimming too. We'll see.

WooHoo!!! WTG, Mike!

My new reach goal is 1200 but I fear I will fall a little short.

Ok, everyone, just a few more weeks to make your goals. Finish strong!

1200!!!! nice!

I am working on 2014 goals. This year I had a lot of goals and will probably only accomplish half of them.

2014 is going to be a very busy year! I might just focus on one goal and one goal only. Running 1000 miles!

Rest days will be lifting and biking. We'll see how this goes!

Well poop. I came in second. I guess I had plenty of support, but didn't get the vote. I'm back down to race weight. More muscle and definitely stronger. That would have been even better with $1000 to go with it.

I could probably do 1000 miles next year. I'm already doing a HM in May, and there is a "Triple Crown" here with a 10 mi, 12K, and a the Pikes Peak Accent... I might sign up for that. I think I will keep kickboxing for a year. I like it, but it does add strain to my lower legs... I guess we will see. There is a $10K year prize... but I do not have much more to loose, and I'm too old to pack on muscle. It's been fun.

Oh, and you have no idea how good breakfast was this morning... 4 eggs and bacon, hash browns, toast, and pancakes... mmmmmmm.

Unless I do something silly and my body is really not build up for, 750 will not happen, but Second Most Mileage is still very doable.

Don't try to downplay that. That is ridiculously awesome mileage!!!!

I made my new goal of 1200. Looks like I'll have about 1230 by year end.

Ok, everybody finish strong. Looks like Kirsten is going to make her new goal!

Mary, I saw this earlier and have been mulling it over. For other situations, I have found that I don't like to initiate new challenges because it offends my sensibilities when people sign up and then promptly forget about it. But from other threads, I have fallen in love with Mary's contagious (sp?) joy and I want to be in another challenge with her. So I'll start a new thread.

I'm at 1095 miles and hope to hit 1100 tomorrow if I'm recovered enough from the trail ultra I did Saturday. My race report is at blog.ransick.org if anyone is curious.

Mike, I'm so proud of you!!!!!! An ultra is an ultra after 26.2 miles so you are an ultra runner! Great Job! Do you know I had only heard of that kind of ultra just about a week ago and I've been wondering what it was like. Your blog explained it very well - good for hydration and slight resting and stretching but bad for tightening up. The only thing that I would question about the whole thing is the chinese food the night before. I had Chinese last Friday night right before my last long run and it turned out to not be a wise choice for me. ;-) TMI, right? I'm so proud of you for accomplishing not only your first marathon but your first ultra. WTG, ultra Mike!

Thanks! It was a ton of fun.

Regarding the Chinese food, I had toilet paper in my trunk just in case since there weren't any toilets or porta potties. Luckily I didn't need to use it :-).
