Pro 4608 Brooklyn, NY | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread With 17 days to go I'm injured. I cannot believe this is happening to me. It's not a new injury, it's PF I've been battling since January 08 and it finally got the best of me. It's likely been slowly building and as of this morning, it's back to acute. I can't put any weight on my left foot, the pain is unbearable. I'm done running for now and maybe until the race. I had ART today and have two more sessions next week. I got a Strassburg Sock and will start with that tonight. I'm heating/icing and taking copious amounts of Advil. I'm praying for a miracle. I have a doctor on back up in case I have to resort to a cortisone shot, but only as a last resort. Regardless, I likely need to re-evaluate my race day as it will not be the scenario I've been working toward for 30 weeks. I know others are injured, I don't know how you've been dealing because this has been one of the most miserable days I've had. I feel like the wind was knocked out of me and I'll never catch my breath. So disappointing. |

Definitely use the Stassburg sock. When I had PF between that and rolling it with a frozen 20oz water bottle, that definitely helped for me. I had never heard about using heat. |

Member 271 Ontario | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread Lazy Marathoner, I am so sorry to hear about your injury. PF can be a huge problem. I battled it all winter. Lots of ART... and have you considered accupuncture? It works for some. Be strong. K |

It was across from Fireman's park, and you stop there just before going out on your second loop, so yes, it 's exactly half way. If you could please send me the link. I may not get to drive or ride the course prior to the race and would like to take a look at email is [email protected] |

Just knock out the course today and had to use arm warmers for the ride.... I will gladly take a repeat of last years weather @ IMOO. Finished the bike in 6:15 without a drop of sweat! My biggest fear is that the weather has been so weirdly mild the last 5 weeks, that a temp spike even into the 80's will really hurt! Edited by montyzooma 2009-08-28 9:38 PM |

Veteran 176 Sun Prairie, WI | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread I looked at Mendota today and thought, "I'm dead meat if Monona is anything like this for IM", then I looked at Monona half an hour later, and it was smoooooooth. Grew up in this town, lived here 30+ years, and never thought to compare lake conditions. Never cared (never raced IM before). Wondering now if Monona is always a little calmer than the bigger Mendota. God, I hope so. I hate chops with a passion. They kick my . Bike would be cold today, but my 12-miler felt great. |

Bob 2194 Binghamton, NY | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread Sorry to hear about the PF Kristen. Stay positive and keep the bike miles up if it doesn't irritate the PF. You won't lose your run fitness if you can keep your bike miles up. I'm trying to figure out how I'm getting my bike out there. I got a RT plane ticket for $194 and it's going to cost me $350 to bring a bike case on the plane. WTF?!! I'm thinking of carrying my wheels on the plane and shipping my bike FedEx Ground. Any suggestions? |

You have put in the time, hard work, energy, and mental preparation. Keep up the positive spirit along with it and it will get you here! YOU CAN DO IT!! |

Plus if you pay an extra $25 you can include a gear bag (wheel bag already included in price) |
