I put my Vibrams away when the temp went below 32F. Would have liked to get a  the treadmill once a week with them to keep my feet used to them but can never find the time.

Love my Chiropractor, fixing my yet again.

Bill, that is so cool that your son went skiing with your. I have been trying all season to get my family to come out skiing with me. They even have free rental on Tuesday nights.

Happy without snow at the moment. Cold, low teens and singles, and clear every morning for the last two week. Add to that the nice breeze that always blows off the water and by the airport where I run and the points have been good.

So I forgot to tell you but last week I am out running and it is like 1C - 4C can't remember, we had some mild weather there. Anyways, buddy runs by me, barefooted. I see him out during the summer barefoot but dude, there is still snow on the ground, although he wasn't running on it. I think my feet would turn to bricks of ice....

This reminds me of what Swift wrote to Pope about humans being "animals capable of reason," and not "rational animals." We're all a little crazy for going out in this weather, but I tend to believe that I run better with my toes still attached.

snow, cold and more points.  Plus, I lost a pound!  29 more to go!  Somewhere along the way, I have gained some extra pounds that are not necessary, so I have been exercising more and getting more healthy in my eating.  The oatmeal with blueberries is something I actually look forward to now.

Have a great weekend everyone!

The very thin silver lining of this continuous sub 0F weather is the favorable crappy point results.

Finally got a ski in. Not as far as it should have been. Didn't do a very good job waxing last night, didn't have a good glide and has to work hard.

I am starting to second think going for the 50K next month, I might switch and do the 23K instead.

I am signed up and that was the plan. Should have had a 20K in by now, and yesterdays 8 mile ski had me stopping to rest. I have till Feb 14 to switch to the 23K race.

Holy crap we have some cold weather coming this week, anyone want it?

Had to run alone this morning, vet says Brewer has some respitory thing and shouldn't exercise. Ok, so what is exercise?
Guess I don't think taking the dog for a walk as exercise, but the vet does.

It's very cold here...

I have a half marathon in Austin on the 30th, so I need to work on my heat acclimation for a bit.  This Thursday, and next week Tuesday and Thursday, I am going to run at the Metrodome.  They have the concourse reopened for "Dome Running" - a winter tradition around here.  I heard they have the heat cranked up to keep the building warm due to the hole in the roof.    I am still doing my last long run outside this weekend though   1:40 of pure point goodness.

Well I don't want to get too excited but I may be out of the crappy weather zone for the next couple weeks, forecast showing highs of 0-4C for the next 14 days. Man it will be good to get out of the deepfreeze.

As bad as it sounds we, mainly me, have been enjoying a string of below 0 days for the last week and it doesn't look like it is going to let up any time soon. I can just set back, after running or biking, and watch those points roll in, as I thaw out.

I did the relay there several years ago, my first real running race, so I am excited about going to do it on my own in the same place.  I always seem to miss the Winter Carnival race, either on vacation or running elsewhere.   Have fun with that!

Got my horshoe medal and my t-shirt yesterday from the Run for the Ranch marathon I ran in Dec. in Missouri.  It seems weird to be getting it a month after the race!  (They ran out, but I hear it is a yearly happening!)

Charlie, I am ahead of you at the moment-until you post again, I guess!

The winds are at 20+ and I had to turn around and walk backwards for a little bit of my run!

My daughter promised to make me chai tea and the fire is going so I can snuggle up on the couch when I get back.

It was snowing this morning when we were getting some school work done, but it stopped before I started my run.  My son is contemplating walking with me(I run, but his legs are so long he could probably keep up by walking!) when I do my half marathon-I think he was wanting a medal like mine! They are addictive...

Ouch! It's cold out there today! Wind chills are -4 but temp 5. I went out this a.m. and had planned to run long but after last nights weights, decided a nice easy run would be good to keep loose...like maybe 30-40 mins...but after the first 6 or so mins I knew it was not gonna be an easy run
My nose was getting numb so I pulled up my gaiter but then my sunglasses got fogged and not only fogged but FROZEN fogged...so here I am running with my sunglasses hanging down my nose so I can see and by now my fingers are feeling a bite so at 2 miles I said enough. Maybe I can figure a way to wear a neck tie around just my nose LOL
