I've stopped trying to watch calories, I was waking up in the middle of the night starving!  eh, it will be easier when I'm not doing 20 hour weeks!

I'm operating under the same logic.  If I'm hungry, I eat.  I'm exercising enough that weight gain isn't an issue and I feel like I know my body well enough to understand the difference between "fake" hunger and real hunger.

I do however pay significant attention to what I'm eating, but that's a whole different topic/thread.

I have thought about trying something this year.

In 2010 I stopped at most of the water stops during the bike to reload with water drinks. This year I am thinking about leaving my bottle cage on the back of my seat so that I can miss most of the stops and keep going.

What is anyone's thoughts about this? Not sure if it is really worth it or not.

I leave my cage on and only grab water when about half of my onboard supply is out.  My 2 cents

Except years when they run out of water. Nope not me, I learned my lesson. Always have one full water bottle.

I find 9180 very hard to believe.  There is no way Louisville has more elevation gain the Lake Tahoe.

Actually, I had Elevation Corrections disabled... Here is what it says with it enabled:

Also note that this is not a cumulative elevation. Since it uses a GPS altimeter it uses the reference ellipsoid model to calculate elevation. So it is not as accurate as barometric altimeter.

That looks a lot better.  :-)

I know I am starting to have a mini freak out!  I just can't believe it is so close!  Is it too soon to start packing?

Also, how well lit is the run course.  The park got pretty dark in Florida on the second loop and I had a head lamp, will I need that for Louisville?

2 questions-

1) I have been playing around with my bike setup since my last 100 miler is this weekend.  I have a set of HED3s and Sram s80s.  I have used each set together and the HED3 front and S80 rear.  I have not ridden this course, so does anyone have any idea what setup would work best for this course.  I am assuming there will be little to no wind.  Probably doesnt make a bit of difference, but I am a sucker for details.

2)Should I plan on bringing my pump the morning of?  Not sure if my support team will be down early enough to make the handoff.  Or will there be plenty of pumps to go around.  I only ask because at IM KS 70.3 the pumps were pretty broke and finding one that would work was a challenge.

I was one of the slower athletes on the course in 2010 and I happily plan on being only slightly faster this year, I wouldn't think you'd need the lamp for Louisville.

I rode the course last weekend with HED 3's, was some wind, did move me around a little several times but not something I couldn't handle.  I think I plan to use my HED 3 up front and a S40 on rear with a wheel cover.  My plan at least.

Yes the hot brown... Although that really does not sound that appetizing.

I am so glad I am in the host hotel for this event because  everything is just a elevator ride down away. At IMFL we walked  alot back and forth before the race.

If anyone is thinking about having custom stickers made for their bikes for Lou. I just used Veloink.com and they are amazing! Ordered them on Friday morning and they showed up Monday! Matt’s work is amazing!

Hi Everyone.  Mind if I join in?

After a DNF at Lake Placid this past weekend, I felt compelled to sign up for Louisville.  I've actually been wanting to do this race for three years now, so I am super exicted!

What kind of custom stickers are you putting on your bike? Any pics?
