Well, we just had a manager's meeting.

As I figured, fiscal cliff hurt some things, but the it's mostly because the economy in the construction industry here in Vegas is STILL slow.  We will be out of money/work at the end of Feb with zero prospects.

Crap, here we go again.  Stress dreams, look out.

NO, No, No.....you deserve a unstressful 2013!!!

Come to Texas.  There have been 3 new high rises surrounding my building in the last 3 years.  The home builders are swamped with orders.  Available existing homes is a national low 4%.  Out west (Midland and Odessa) and down in the Rio Grande Valley, they can't build things fast enough for all of the oil and gas exploration people that are moving in.

Texas is boomin!

I was too hungover to make the tee time so I bailed. That would've been my only opportunity to ever actually play golf. I can see myself liking it though.

Good morning TAN.

Morning Jim.

Welcome!

How's the getting up and moving going for you?

Well, yesterday was sort of a fail.  I didn't get out of my office chair from 9am to 5:30 pm.  Updating construction drawings for a big project.

BUT, I did go to the indoor golf range and tested out some demo equipment.  I may have to get new clubs.  According to the computer, I was hitting the demo driver as well as the one I own.  But the IRONS?  25 yards further?  I should NOT be hitting the 7i 175 and my 5i 200-210.  Crazy.

Holy smokes!  I'm somewhat happy if I hit my 3i 175.

Normally, I would be happy if I can even HIT the ball with my 3.  I HAVE been working on my swing, but I think it's the difference between almost 20yr old pings that I own and love and the brand new 2013 Rocketbalz...  Design and technology has improved a lot.

The extra distance is likely due to the habit of TaylorMade "de-lofting" their irons.  I think it started somewhere around the R7 irons or so.  They moved the CG of the club down which allows you to hit the ball higher, so they compensating by removing some of the loft in the club which allows you to gain the distance.

I own the R7's and hit them a freaking mile compared to the old Ping Eye 2's that I had from the late 90's.  We're talking like 180 with a 7.  I actually had to add an additional 50 degree wedge to my bag since I didn't have a club for anything between 115 (my gap wedge) and 140 (my pitching wedge)
