I'm thinking about signing up for the Philadelphia HM in September. Im scheduled for a 14 mile run that weekend anyway. That would be a great idea. Running in a race is better than running by yourself any day. I was thinking of doing the Asheville, HM for the same reason. It is so damn hilly though. When is the Asheville race? September 28th. It is a byach of a race. They call it hilly but I would call it borderline mountainous. I have signed up for it 3 times and finished it never. This year they have added a full marathon. No way That's a month before MCM. I haven't registered for Philly yet, if you want (and you can give me a place to stay) I can come down and run it with you if you'd like. That would be fun! We always have a place to stay. The only thing I have to check on is my idiot niece is supposedly getting married that weekend. If she is, that will be the whole weekend shot. I'll let you know soon. |

The 400 pound man I work with is in here now saying he doesn't know why anyone would ever want to run something as stupid as a marathon, and he'd never expect his family to sit and watch something so boring. How F'IN insensitive can people be? You don't have to run anything, but don't bust on those who did, and those who do, and those who will! This whole damn thing makes me want to go out and run MORE!!!! Run more, but don't let peoples stupidity get you down. Brush them off and move on. There are always idiots. (I say that knowing full well that I have a hard time minding my own advise). Do as I say not as I do. Heh. I will. He won't get me down. Neither will my MIL, or my family, or all the others who don't understand why I run to begin with. I don't do it for them. I do it for me. And right now I'm doing it for the people affected yesterday. United we stand. Right? Edited by ironannekidd 2013-04-16 7:21 AM |

Yesterday and again today are supposed to be cold & foggy in the morning and warm up and be sunny in the afternoon. Yesterday was gorgeous. I plan to run at least part of the lake this afternoon at work. I swam yesterday but I at least got to run errands in the sunshine. |

Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: Ghoulies Springing into action Saw the doc today about my MRI and arthogram. The good news is I didn't tear anything. It kind of goes downhill from there. :-/ She asked me if I've ever dislocated or subluxated my shoulder. I said not that I was aware of. She said that my shoulder was all stretched out and that it looks like I had dis/subluxed it. I guess it is possible that I did almost 6 years ago when I got thrown from that horse, but then why didn't it bother me until last November? I also have some arthritis where the scapula and clavicle meet. I also have a cyst somewhere in my shoulder, but I can't remember where. She said the arthritis, and cyst are most likely what is causing the tendonitis. So... I am going to go to physical therapy for the next few weeks to strengthen things up. She told me the way my shoulder looks like now it wouldn't take much for a dis/sublux and that would just cause more problems. |
