Thanks for the heads up! It looks fabulous, but I think it's too big. My Felt FW3 is 49 cm, and this one is 52. Does anyone know anything about sizing? When I look at a ruler, 3 cm is not very much -- but when it comes to riding, that could be wear and tear where you don't want it -- right? |

My hubby used to work in a bike shop and while 3cm isn't a lot- it is in the bike world. Provided that your road bike is sized properly, he said that you would probably either stay with the same size or even go down a cm or two. If you are putting on big miles on your bike, he definitely recommends getting a good bike fit so that you are on the right size. He, himself, went through a lot of trouble to decide between a 54 and 56 cm frame and finally said one felt waaay better than the other.

Master 1841 Sendai, Japan | Subject: RE: Girl Passing on Left (FULL) run_yc_run - 2009-01-11 10:52 AM Part 2 Dan- my hubby (craxy biker dude) used to commute year-round and winter meant SmartWool socks with either neoprene toe covers or full shoe covers .These are from Mountain Equipment Coop- the Canadian equivalent of REI. Pretty reasonably priced at $29 (CDN). Hope you find a good solution for your cold tootsies!
Thanks Yvonne. I'm going to check out a local store or two tomorrow. Worst case, I will end up ordering from a US site -- the overseas shipping costs usually offset the more expensive costs over here.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I was fitted the first time, and it has never given me any problems. So it makes sense to stick with what works. Thanks for the info! |

Planning to have my butt kicked by the woman who will be riding the bike segment of my tri relay. Well, they say the best way to learn to ride faster is to ride with people who are faster than you. Consider the second part of that equation accomplished! Have a good ride...and I bet you give them ONE RUN FOR THE MONEY!!!! go get em tiger! |

When I look at a ruler, 3 cm is not very much -- but when it comes to riding, that could be wear and tear where you don't want it -- right? here is how you measure: • Using a measuring tape, measure the distance from the top of the seat tube to the middle of the bottom bracket. • For a road bike, you will need to list the size in centimeters. To convert inches to centimeters, simply multiply by 2.54 • For a mountain bike, list the size in inches. • If you want to get really technical, measure the top tube and include that information in the item description along with other sizing information here is a chart that I found...

Extreme Veteran 656 quebec's belly button | Subject: RE: Girl Passing on Left (FULL) FINALLY i caught up with the reading. You guys post too fast. I have to remember or try to fit forum reading each day or else i get flooded!!! Thanks for the wetsuit video advice, i will look for it. I had the choking experience last september, first swim with a wet and HATED it. My swim time was ok but i kept thinking i would be really fast if i hadn't fought the suit and breastroked head up to get some air for most of the swim... 750m in 18 min (equivalent of my times 3 years ago without the wet. But now i range in the 16-17 min without the wet so a bit disapointing for me). My first tri will be in July. I am turning 40 next october. Way to go MONICA, first challenge met:entering (the rest will probably be easier on your stomach). On the menu: maybe a bike session or 2 miles easy run. Have a great weekend everyone...what is left of it and keep that booty moovin'

New user 39 | Subject: RE: Girl Passing on Left (FULL) I was a cheerleader back in Jr High. I had been in gymnastics for years, so I was the girl that did all the tumbling for the squad. Now, if I do a cartwheel, I get so dizzy that I have to sit down! Rested my weary body this weekend. Those 110 pushups really did a number on my shoulders and lower back. Back in the swing of things tomorrow. Jennifer |

Pro 4343 Olney, MD | Subject: RE: Girl Passing on Left (FULL) 36 degrees...no sun...windy...three gals riding...great fun! My friend Regina brought along her friend Pam. We did a route that follows a creek so it's a bit down in a valley and a bit sheltered from the wind. Still quite windy at times. We were able to do some pacelining, something I don't get to do much. It's a lot easier following behind another rider than cutting through the wind by yourself. 28 miles in just under 2 hours. |

Master 2339 somewhere over the rainbow | Subject: RE: Girl Passing on Left (FULL) nice ride nicole!! i've not done that pacelining, but it sounds like fun. i'm heading out for a short run also considering an indoor tri march first--it's about two and a half hours from home, so once again, the logistics of getting to the starting line are affecting my decision making, but it's not a ton of $$ so that's a consideration as well. i think it's $40 hmmmm something to think about on my run anyway. |
