I am running this morning.  Gonna go the flat route.  Maybe the cows will be out again.  I like cows.  Moo.

Well, at least if you see cows, you know you're not in Oz, with the wicked witch of the west.

Although, you COULD be in Kansas, I guess. LOL

Mooo back at ya!

runnerx - 2009-10-08 12:04 PM Ok - I need some cattle prodding. I know this is a run-challenge, which is great for my motivation to train for the marathon, but all the other stuff - swimming, core work, etc is going to the wayside. I need a taser to get my lazy butt outta bed. Dee? Someone?

Go to the pool!!

I have managed to fit in all my scheduled runs so far this month and it MUST continue for my 1/2 mary is coming up!  I do think, however, that I am ditching my strength training today 'cuz my legs have been really heavy the last few weeks so I will give them a rest today (after already having done my run this morn) and tomorrow since it is my rest day!

I'm off on Monday, but then again, I'm off all of next week.  I wish it was for a holiday, but it is not.  At least I'll be able to get some knitting done.

Artemis - 2009-10-08 2:18 PM Hiya team!  I'm home post-surgery. Now I'm trying to catch up on all the posts here.

How you feeling??  Hope it went well.

Went well - they were able to do it laproscopically.  I was nervous that it would have to turn into an open surgery.

Pain is manageable now and I've been able to eat.  I'm going to try to take a walk with my husband when he gets home from work.

Maybe I can set a walking goal for the month.  I'm shooting for 5 - 10 minutes today.
Great that they were able to do the laproscopy. A walking goal would be good. I remember after my surgery, I tried to walk along my street. I had always thought the road there was FLAT, but after the surgery, I learned that it resembled a roller coaster. LOL

I didn't manage to walk today.  I'm going to try to go tomorrow.  I think I'm going to set a walking goal.  Just have to figure out how much I can walk now and then I can set a goal.

No.    I was supposed to run the Hartford Half Marathon tomorrow but then we moved and I missed a bunch of training.  Soooo, no race for me.  Really bummed out cause it was my first half marathon and I really wanted to return and crush the course.  Now I have to wait another year.

This is such a big team, hard to keep up with all the posts. But I do see some good running going on!!

But we need more!!!!

So dust off those shoes and make friends with the road! Remember that you LOVE to run! (or just keep telling yourself this over and over again!)

Yea EVIL runners!

I'll be heading out shortly for a Little 3 or 4 miler.

Dreading it 'cause the weather is so hot and humid right now, but there isn't much I can do about it.... (except to stop complaining.)

Ha, ha down south in MS the day isn't even recognized, (except by banks and the post office), most kids have no idea that it's even a holiday. Sad, I think...

It is a big day here is RI. Lots of folks look at Columbus as a family member! Going up to VT tomorrow. Had trouble finding a room between the leaf peepers and the Canadians on Thanksgiving holiday. My daughter has today off- UVM doesn't want to celebrate the conquering of the native peoples on Monday. Crazy-but I am excited to see her. She has been at school since the last weekend in August.

Where I work, they've taken nearly all of our long weekend holidays, like Columbus Day, and moved them to the week of Christmas. Ostensibly, to close the offices and give us that whole week off.

Yeah. Right. It's never happened.

I think it's just a ploy to up the company's productivity numbers. I do not work for an employee friendly company.

Unfortunately, in today's market, I have to be grateful to just have a job that pays well and provides decent benefits.

I have a little transition run on the schedule today as part of my pre-race workout. Just 15 minutes. The "big" miles will come this weekend.
