Rynamite - 2008-07-17 1:35 PM I just got a set of speakers that velcro into my motorcycle helmet and have a quick connect and volume control. Sweeeet. No more messing with annoying earbuds.

Ryan was getting sick of the talk about boobs so he had to interject randomly with electronics.

How can someone get tired of talking about boobs... honestly...

Or butts. Or just the fact that just about anything female in my like, totally hetero worldview is hot.

Ok, I've really got to go be a parent now and take lots of cute pictures at the pool. Y'all have a good rest of the day. Ciao!

I totally agree...

Llama llama llama llama llama llama llama.

Jimmy: What girl wants to dance with a guy who looks like he should still be in Gymboree?
Carl: [quietly] I didn't think we liked girls yet, Jim.
Jimmy: Oh, we don't, we don't, no, not yet. However, one day, Carl, an influx of hormones that we can't control will overpower our better judgment and drive us to pursue the female species against our will.

Damn hormones.

Hey, I was on a budget! And high quality women's apparel can be expensive!

And as a result so are high quality women.

chadtower - 2008-07-17 12:42 PM I'll admit that my kids aren't allowed to watch the Cartoon Network. They very rarely watch Nickelodeon, either. We do our cartoons up right. When they get TV time they watch Looney Tunes and Tom + Jerry.

There is so much missing from those anymore, some of them can't even be shown.

How so?

Not politically correct.  Buggs Bunny versus the N***s is one.  And I've purposefully done that because the word is incredibly offensive to the Japanese.  And so is their depiction in the cartoon.

This is one of the Jimmy/Timmy Power Hours that's on now, that mix the Neutron and Fairly Oddparents' universes. There's plenty of 'adult jokes' in there that go over the kids' heads... much like the early Ren and Stimpy were really dirty.

OMG, Ren and Stimpy was the dirtiest kid's cartoon ever! I loved it!

Powdered Toast Man!

I love Pinky and the Brain, too.

What are we going to do tonight, Brain? Narf!

Animaniacs in general was pretty good too.

Hellllooooooooo NURSE!!!!

Hey biznatch --- you swimmin' tonight or punkin' out?

Today is my recovery day.  And I'm on a mini taper for the race on Saturday.  So I'm punkin' out on you.

I saw the CTC swim on Tuesday nights and Saturday mornings, though.  I might have to do those instead of Thursdays.  The more the merrier.

Aw...yeah, that was my guess. This is going to sound REALLY nerdy here for a minute (but what else would you expect from me?), but awhile back I did a long trainer ride and to keep me occupied, I watched Disney's Fantasia (yes, I own it on DVD) - and man, some of that is REALLY politically incorrect! The whole Beethoven piece that they do as a cartoon depicting greek mythology is a bit racist in a few ways - that would be unnoticeable to a child, but not to an adult! I guess there was even more that was cut when they re-released it in the 70's (movie came out in 1941), because it was offensive.

They won't even show the Tom and Jerry episodes that have the maid just because she's black. All she does is walk around and she didn't even have a head. They only drew her looking up from floor level. Still, they say it's "too stereotypical to have a black maid".

Yep.  Lots of 'em.  And the house maid in many of the Tom n' Jerry episodes.  Depictions of Indians (Me last mohican comes to mind).

You will probably never see many of those sold again.
